If this is her livelihood, she'll kick you the $500 (well any smart business owner would). If not, after a couple weeks just forward it to lemonparty.

he already said he doesnt really care about the 500

Why not just put something to this effect up?

"This domain, website, and it's contents (maybe just domain, I dunno the legality of it all) is for sale @ $X,XXX.XX.

I'd set the amount REALLY high, maybe %500 more than it's calculated worth.

I mean, what have you got to lose? Nothing. In fact, if she see's that, she'll be more likely to buy it knowing that someone else might buy it first.

You should both redirect her site and put a message that she refused to pay her fees despite the verbal agreement, just so her customers can see what an unreliable and cheap person she is. Just put a frame with the redirected site inside of it, and on top of the frame put down what she did and why her site was shut down

"Yes, but serves her right"
And as others have suggested, putting up a notice of "Delinquency of Payment" or such should get her attention.

he made it for a business. did not do anything about payment for 2 years. now makes a fuss over it. I would think if she can prove a loss of business from this she could sue him over it.

Sure, she COULD sue. That's what's great about this country. However, since she doesn't own the website, never paid for it, the "business" you're referring to has no ownership claim of said webpage, you'd hear the laughter from the judge 100 miles away.

I say redirect it to ******. Goatse hasn't been online in forever, if I recall.

edit: tub girl is a swear? No way!

You may be an asshole, but she deserves it.

d take the site down and put up a notice that says something like" site taken down because she refuses to pay for creation and hosting of said site'
do this, & I'll bet you get paid.
PS have a hosting agreement made up and ready to sign.

if the domain is registered to you, you own the site. if she wants to purchase it from you, she's going to have to pay a lot more than $500.

If your goal is to get paid then I would be abit more subtle. I would simply break something on the site making it unusuable then wait for her to come to you for help...then increase your fee and no fixie til payee.

I agree with Amused. Put up a text message explaining her bad faith practices to her customers. No need to expose them to a vile picture just because the woman is a degenerate.

Yah Turkish, goatse or ****** is too much :x Don't do that (I walked onto those two on accident from friends who gave links that redirected x_x) That would just generate more anger.

Just put up that sign that Amused said and be done with it

I have no idea what the site is for but you may want to consider just taking the site down. I'm sure there is some way she can come back on you (even having not paid) for doing what you have done. Just take it down seriously. A lot of people in this thread say otherwise but I'm 99% sure they don't know what they are talking about. And I made up that statistic too.

Just put a message on it saying they need to contact the appropriate people regarding invoices that are overdue.

So a few years back, I designed a website for someone I know, a business website that displayed their products and stuff. We never signed anything, over dinner, she asked if I would do it for $500, I said yes, designed it, hosted it for 2 years, etc.

The reason she isn't paying you is that there is NOTHING in writing, she doesn't feel obligated to pay since you don't have proof. If you have proof of the $500 agreement take her ass to court, if not, you don't have a leg to stand on in court.

Business transactions are all about getting it in writing.

I don't really care for the $500. Designing and hosting her site for 2 years cost me less than $30 as I already host 30+ people who pay regularly. I may redirect the page to a competitor's

Were you ever able to get it across to you that it's being hosted on a computer that you own, on an internet connection you pay for and using electricity you pay for? It doesn't simply "exist" on the internet as a magical website... lol

First of all, she has no rights. The OP created, owned and operated the website. The woman never paid for the website or signed any documentation stating that she owned the product. The website just happened to financially benefit this woman. Second of all, if you read the thread, you'd know that the OP is in Turkey (the country). She can't do a damned thing to him.

Edit: You seem to speak/type in quite an authoritative manner in many threads when you have no idea what you're talking about.

Take the site down or change it into something you can use to make money yourself. Use the traffic the site built up...
