I would redirect to a page with a complete explanation of what happened, and a warning to anyone else who wishes to have any dealings with her.

Why not just put something to this effect up?
"This domain, website, and it's contents (maybe just domain, I dunno the legality of it all) is for sale @ $X,XXX.XX.
I'd set the amount REALLY high, maybe %500 more than it's calculated worth.
I mean, what have you got to lose? Nothing. In fact, if she see's that, she'll be more likely to buy it knowing that someone else might buy it first.

The thing is, I was doing this lady a favor at the time. She didn't have much money and was just starting the business, so we agreed (verbally) that she'd pay me in a few months. Well, IIRC, I asked her about the payment half a year after I created the site as she never mentioned it, but she tried to avoid my requests. As she repeatedly avoided my requests for payment, I told her that her site costs me money to operate and I'd need the $500 immediately or the site is gonna be off. Well, she told me that she owns the website (!) and I don't have any control over it.... Well, the domain is registered to my name, files are hosted on my servers, etc. so I don't know what she meant by that but yeah, the site redirecting to a competitor now with an explanation pop-up stating "She didn't pay for services rendered so the site is redirected to someone who may pay fees due on time."

First of all, she has no rights. The OP created, owned and operated the website. The woman never paid for the website or signed any documentation stating that she owned the product. The website just happened to financially benefit this woman. Second of all, if you read the thread, you'd know that the OP is in Turkey (the country). She can't do a damned thing to him.Originally posted by: Fingolfin269
I have no idea what the site is for but you may want to consider just taking the site down. I'm sure there is some way she can come back on you (even having not paid) for doing what you have done. Just take it down seriously. A lot of people in this thread say otherwise but I'm 99% sure they don't know what they are talking about. And I made up that statistic too.
Edit: You seem to speak/type in quite an authoritative manner in many threads when you have no idea what you're talking about.

I like this, redirection makes it look like someone fvcked with it, whereas the above makes her look cheap and unreliable.Originally posted by: jjones
I wouldn't redirect, just put up a notice of site down due to nonpayment.
