So I'm trying to sell a laptop on Craigslist. The person who want to buy it said she will send me a Money Gram. After I received it, I can send her the laptop. How does Money Gram work? What does she mean by picking it up using her FedEx account?

this is the email

"Thanks for your reply,I will be making payment through
(U.S) Money Gram,so i will like you to send
me you full name address and phone number, because this
will be written on the money order that will be sent to
you,i will offer you $910 that we can close the
auction as soon as possible.Once my payment is approved
i will like to pick up the item with my personal Fedex account.
So getback to me if you accept my proposal. Thanks for your anticipation"

From that scam link...

"3. distant seller requests payment via Western Union or MoneyGram:
seller often claims that an MTCN or confirmation code is needed before he can withdraw your money - this is FALSE, once you've wired money, it is GONE.
common items currently: laptops, plasma TVs, cell phones, tickets - but could be almost anything"

it's a scam, this is a form letter that scamers use.

USPS MO, cash in hand works best.

Heh, my roommate was sent like $5K in fake USPS MO. They did a good job on them, my friend took them to the Post and had to tell them that they were probably fake and then they said that he might be right. They had all the security features on there, but some of them were not 100% correct. The watermark was present, but after a close look we realized it was printed on and not part of the paper itself. Anyway, no harm for us because after talking it the whole deal through with him I realized that he was being scammed so he knew that the money orders were fake when he received them.

United States Postal Service Money Order = USPS MO

It's a scam, either delete and move on, or some would advocate to take the law into your own hands by sending a box full of rocks to the recipient.

The problem with fake money orders is that even though they may fool the teller and they cash the money order for you, that is not the end of the review process. The money orders are reviewed at a later date, at which point they will probably be found to be fake. So now, a few weeks after you've completed the transaction, they find the money orders are fake, reverse the transaction, and follow the paper trail that stops at you.

What part of this ----> Once my payment is approved , did you not understand ? It says APPROVED it does not say RECIEVED. If you agree to the deal, he will send you a link to a fake webpage stating that as soon as you supply a tracking number the money order will be released. I say go for it. It'll be an expensive lesson for you.

"... Thanks for your anticipation."

What sort of closing salutation is that? The whole thing stinks and the final sentence alone, is worthy of a beat-down. I say 'No Deal."

Give the scammer an FBI address.. and tell him to make SURE he puts his name and address on the envelope as that is the address you will be shipping to...

And while you are at it, tell him if he wants he can make a money gram order of $10k and you will refund him the difference once you cash it.
