I may just need to do that. Still urks me. May i ask a question. Are you one of the v6 ford mustang drivers?

Nope. I just don't get why someone gets all worked up over something like that.

Its kind of the same feeling when ATOT'ers get all worked up over a rice'd civic or honda.

A Civic is a Honda.

Yep, see other thread about automatic. I already said im dumb I only know about stangs and no other cars ;(

Lmfao! u guys seen the news video where the police are chasing the blue mustang? Well the car was v6 automatic! U can see why they had ease staying caught up to it. Dumb driver for stealing the stang.

Those cop cars probably have V8s in them with a chip enhancing performance...automatic or not, they will catch it if given time.

I just looked up the stated 1/4 mile time ... 16.5?

Cop cars got V8's in em their Crown Vics around here, awesome bigass cars actually lol but that time is really bad my 01 Protege does better than that....

Only get mad if there is a guy driving. There is no reason for a man to be driving a recent mustang, especially if it is a v6 and or automatic.

You mean you couldn't have fun if given the option to drive a automatic mustang through its paces?

I drive a '02 Z28 with an auto. It can even bring a smile to my face keeping the trans in D.

I couldn't have fun in an automatic period. I'd keep getting distracted when trying to find the clutch.

Here's a little late night psycology for you. Take it for what it's worth, I'm probably wrong

Everyone has personal preferences, most are not the same as the ones other people have. That's pretty obvious, what YOU may want in a car is not what someone else may want. But people who care about other peoples' personal preferences are usually looking for validation of their own. When other people don't put as much importance on those preferences (as in, they don't care if their car is a stick or a V8), it trivializes the importance YOU place on such things. Of course people who are secure in the choices they make don't really care if anyone else validates those choices.

But of course YOU aren't like that, right? Of course not. Although that begs the question...why do you care?

Bah, this thread is annoying:

If you ever heard a mustang v8 manual stang...
It sounds exactly like a V8 automatic stang.

why do you think the mustang soundly spanked the camaro, firebird, and trans am hands down? you can get a sporty car for cheap.
It didn't in terms of price or performance. Most V8 F-bodies were faster than the competing V8 stangs at around the same price point. The Mustang SOLD a lot better, but was neither significantly cheaper nor significantly faster.

When I was younger, Saleens were blown V6's
No they weren't.

The v6 mustang is a niche vehicle...
No it's not, they sell tons of them every year to the same market that buys Mitusbishi Eclipses and Toyota Celicas.

Lmfao! u guys seen the news video where the police are chasing the blue mustang? Well the car was v6 automatic!
How the hell do you know what transmission was in the car? You can't tell whether it's an auto or a manual by watching a video of it driving around on the freeway. Don't make things up.

Those cop cars probably have V8s in them with a chip enhancing performance...automatic or not, they will catch it if given time.
Police departments do not "chip" thier cars. Yes, a Crown Victoria police interceptor is faster than a V6 Mustang, but it's slower than a V8 mustang and all it's computer settings come straight from Ford.

the dual badges on the back of that car lead me to believe that it is most definitley a pre 99 GT
The one in the video? It has V6 wheels. It's pretty much definitely a V6.

I'm sure someone else mentioned this, but mustangs are now the car you buy your daughter for her sweet sixteen. That's why they aren't fast or loud, and a lot of them are totalled.
V8 ones are both fast and loud. V6s aren't.

One i know is you can see the mufflers rust pretty good on the newest stang because they arent hideen like the older models.
How can you see anything rust on a car that hasn't been released yet?

And remember ford took the mustang off the market for a while.
No they didn't. It's been in continuous production since 1964.

And the "I have bigger balls and am more manly than you because I drive a stick shift" thing is fvcking old already. No one gives a crap what kind of transmission is in your car.

When the Fbody came out with the LT1's, this was the case. However, during the fox body years the V8 Mustangs were faster than the firebird/camaro with the 350...generally. How about that 305?

The 305 might as well have been a V6. Only the 350 f-bodies count.

I thought that mustangs were not made for a year or two back in the 70's or maybe i just was thinking that a mustang II wasn't a real mustang. The only good thing about them was the compact front suspension that made its way under thousands of street rods.

Actually with a tpi 305 five speed car with a good driver was just as fast at the 350 tpi car.

and i see a stang going the other way and i only see 1 pipe on the back, then yes its a v6! Mustangs! v8 manual is the way to go!

No you are not wrong to feel that way, I agree 100%. Who buys a "sports car" with an auto or with any engine less than the best made for the car? (I know mustangs aren't technically a sports car, but lets call it a "performance" car then)

It is people rights, now if you people want something most of us will agree on rant about Hummer H2's and all the women (or men for the matter) that drive around in them by themselves all day. The size of that SUV looks actually insane, when u see some 5'3" girl driving it, i am just saddened, what a good use of gas, I bet she'll be taking that off road.

The original motor that came stock, the 289, is a V6 and there's nothing wrong with it. There's nothing wrong with automatic transmissions in Mustangs either.

Some folks just can't afford v8's.

If you want to take this same logic, why not get mad at all people who drive GT's and not Cobra's?

When I see another Mustang on the road, ya, I check out the badging to see what it is. But I don't look down on other people for picking a GT or a v6.

I'm sure vette owners look at us Mustang guys and chuckle, and Viper owners look at the vette guys...

Why drive a Cobra instead of a Saleen Mustang? Or a Rousch Mustang?

BTW, 'Vette z06, Viper and the supercharged Cobra are all close enough in performance that the drivers don't look too far down their noses at one another.

Ummmmmm..NO.

Ummmmmm... yes Take it from a guy that owned those cars. Go over to thirdgen.org and see for youself. A STOCK 305 5 speed car is/was just as fast with a good driver as a STOCK 350 auto car. Although he 350 does respond to mods better. The 305 camaros I believe had 3.42 gears while the 350 cars usually came with 2.73 gears. But stock for stock they were the same as far as speed goes. And remeber gm never offered a 350 5 speed thirdgen.
