Except here it was used outside of an FS/T deal, and "Barbie".

You have trouble with reading comprehension. You need the the original quote.

Let me go to the trouble of posting it and explaining it to you. You have problems in this area, I know.

They are the items brought up that were outside of the normal methods for determining guilt/innocence. For example, something that takes place on another forum should never be cause of discipline here.

And we adhere to that rule.

It is inside AT that were care about unless it involves fraud in FS/T

If we used TFNN as a yardstick; ATOT would have been like a Barby house

What EK said here in response to shiner is that we really can give a rat's ass about what goes on at TFNN or any other forum. The only way we let another forum influence a decision on AT is if it involves the FS/T forum. We will ban a member here that has committed fraud on other FS/T forums.

You add nothing to this conversation. Why don't you take yourself back to that forum you run.

Can anyone tell me if they saw anything regarding my birthday party in there? That would be great, thanks.

Please refrain from personal attacks. :hmm:

I'm not bringing in any other site to this, you and your corrupt brethren are.

No its not a personal attack. You and I have gone back and forth on many issues by PM and you always seem to have trouble with what I say. That's all.

And as for your second sentence. That's mod bashing.

Question is will this thread have to be locked when it reaches the 10,000 post tipping point of reducing forum performance like the neffing threads?

Call me a cockeyed optimist, a dreamer if you will, but I confidentially predict that by the end of today, all of this controversy will be definitively resolved, and the unimpeachable truth will be known to all who wish to know it.

The plot thickens.

That wasn't much of a confidential prediction, eh?

I think over reaction is really in over-drive here. A lot of decent people on both sides of the fence need to step back, catch a breath, and in a few days work this out. The mods do have job to do though, but mistakes were made all around. We all have our good days and bad days, but we shouldn't let a bad day become a never ending thing. The melting pot so to speak of different attitudes is what makes a forum great, but sometimes that very thing will have a negative result in times such as this.

Mods are human like everyone else, so they should have some private area where they can go and discuss stuff, even if just blowing off steam. And members should understand that and when that area became open should have respected that. But in turn mods also need to realize that they should not hold others to any higher standard than they would hold themselves. Now in fairness in the time I been here, I can't really recall where anyone was banned forever without something pretty serious that occured.

So I can't really say whether or not the folks who got a vacation deserved it or not. But history says whatever they seen was pretty serious. But I think in order would be in say a couple of weeks after cooler heads have prevailed for everyone to see if this could be worked out without this being some long drawn out thing.

That would definitely resolve the questions.

it's like executive meetings when you're at work.

everyone imagines they're like some super secret war room where they discuss the daily machinations of the company....

meanwhile they really discuss steve's new tie or randy's vacation pictures.

it's the MYSTERY of the closed door.

easier than another 'Change of Culture' sticky

Ah, the Change of Culture. I remember it fondly. Like a colonoscopy. These forums are a private club. When those in power decide you are no longer cool you're gone. That "change of culture" was basically the mods deciding what was good, what was bad and what we like today at this moment. Rabid trolls that contribute nothing were allowed to roam freely b/c they new a mod, while intelligent members who actually had something useful to contribute got swatted. There was nothing fair or rational about the process. If you were dumb enough to stand up for a buddy, you got swatted too.

Most of the members that got swatted are back; half with a new username.

Very few people are permabanned. No. They just rot in in "we're still thinking about the length of your ban" purgatory forever, never to be heard from again. Conveniently.

I was one of those people that got swatted during the Change of Culture. I'd still be banned if not for one Mod who shall remain nameless who thought about me more than a year later, looked at my status and emailed me to say "Um...you want back in?"

Thank you, Unnamed Mod for your kindness.

I had to beg for mine :|

I think I did a good job though. Perknose keeps me around for when he's feeling lonely.

This thread has been renamed "Alkemyst's Opinions"

Which are usually right, hence why I knew enough not to go pick through the mod forums.

Which is why I don't agree with exploiting merchants and other things.
