Am I the only one who doesn't find Stephen Colbert funny?

I agree, half the shit Jon Stewart does is funny, but when it isn't, it falls harder than a lead brick. Perfect example was the bunch of highlanders running back and forth when Jon would yell "FREEEDOM" which itself was mildly stupid, augmented by the highlanders, it was amusing.


Then it became tired and frankly, kind of sad.

Neither show is as funny as they used to be. I used to watch daily, but now it barely gets a chuckle out of me. I canceled my season pass on my tivo because it kept filling up with TDS and Colbert Report eps that I just wasn't watching.

Well the daily show still has hits from time to time.. I think the hour would be better filled by an hour long daily show and colbert can go back to just being a correspondent there. That way when there's something good for colbert to make fun of, hes available, but if there is nothing in the news specifically for him to lampoon, the time can be filled with the other, TDS correspondents. I still think Colbert can be funny, but it's an issue of consistency and I don't think he's consistent enough for his own 1/2 hour, 4 times a week. Maybe like 1-2 times a week, maybe less.

More Rob Cordry, more Asif, and more of the Senior Black Correspondent, whatever his name is..

And plenty more John Hodgman.

I used to watch both The Daily Show and The Colbert Report... however, Colbert has pretty much jumped the shark as far as I'm concerned. TDS remains somewhat steady in hilarity.

John is only boring when he interviews actors, but that's where Stephen shines, because of his whole narcissistic schtick it works perfectly.:laugh:

he's funny. usually the people who don't find him funny are hardcore republicans or those that don't know that he is satirizing O'Rielly.

This. I find Colbert funny because he's so ballsy in his call-outs, and his whole pro-conservative persona on the show is just a character. IMO during the writer's strike when he wrote the whole show, it was just as good.

both are mildly funny, humor in this country has gone downhill dramatically in the past 20 years. Maybe a totally different style of comedian but Richard Pryor had more funny in his pinky than both of these dudes combined. Stephen tries to hard a lot of times, and Jon doesn't seem to try hard enough most of the time. But then again what do I know, I remember I use to crack up at Jon Lovitts in the Subway commercials.

I find him funny, but since his show is based almost completely on the US and politics, most of what he is talking about is stuff that I don't pay attention to which means I don't get the jokes.

But you DO have to be either clueless or humor challenged not to appreciate first class comedy writing expertly delivered on a near nightly basis. In that case, being rigidly right just helps.
