I don't know. I always thought that 25 was too late for this kind of thing. I could be wrong. Of course, I'm a very old man in the body of a 25 year old. I might have to take a nap before I go out tonight.

Well, it wasn't quite what I expected. There were a lot of older people there, but still it was about as exciting and jabbing a fork through my temple. My cousin wanted to leave me with two of his friends in the club for an hour (it was packed and the music was terrible). I tried to follow him, but lost him in the crowd. I waited for ten minutes and left. Only wasted a few hours.

Man, I'll never understand how someone can think that stuff is fun sober. I just don't get it. I guess I'm an old man already. Edit: This is where we went.

Very few places are fun sober when everyone else is drunk. Sometimes I'll drink just so I'm not so annoyed with the way all the other drunk people are acting.

Yeah. It'd be different if everyone was buzzed. I wouldn't mind drinking then. But when everyone is trashed and/or high and I have to be the one to prevent people from going after people with knives or getting us permanently banned from places... It gets to be too much.

Age is a state of mind + how you look

If you can run with the young dogs, why not do it?

Are you serious, 25?

Thats nothing.

It's disturbing that the thought went through your head that you were too old.

It's the age where you realize you can't spend your entire paycheck on one really cool thing and deal with being broke for the next 1-2 weeks.

It's the age where you realize having a car that can go 0-60 in 5.5 seconds is not as important as one that gets at least 28MPG on the highway.

And...sadly...it's the age where clubbing starts to get old.

I'm over 30 and the best thing that can happen to me during the week is my wife takes the kids somewhere for a couple of hours and I can take a nap on the couch while watching "Monster House" or something on HGTV.

Actually I'm 25 and just got a new car that goes 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, still go out clubbing with my buddies on the weekends, and my hair definitely isn't thinning =P I've probably put on like 3-4 pounds this year but I think that's from not working out as much.

32 is the new 25...dont' you watch entourage? heh

Uhh 25 is fine.

I mean you did so as a teen... remember those teenage clubbing scenes? Those were lame? Remember when you turned 18 and you went to an 18+ club? Gosh those were lame too.

The first time I set foot in a 21+ club I was drooling. It's way better than anything you've seen before, and if you know people from the clubbing scene like promoters or even people who just go frequently, you'll be going to the right places. I'm not a clubbing expert myself, but I at least know which promoter groups to hit up and I have friends that go frequently. You just need to be going to the right events for it to be fun.

I also have friends that go to ghetto shady clubs because they just find out its a new event, or that people "generally go there," but sometimes they hit up the same clubs I hit up but just on the wrong nights. Yea, in that case without a promoter group, you get ghettoass people showing up adn what not.

25 is fine. I have friends who are 24 - 27 hitting up the clubs frequently. Notice how many clubs say 23+ preferred?

It's actually better now than when we were 21 because we all have pretty nice pads to take the girls we meet out home to or preparty at, nice cars to go out in, can afford nice clothes to wear out and to actually drink something besides 40's (although we still drink the occassional 40 for nostalgic purposes and preparty before going out).

I've had the most fun in the past year spending whole weekends bbqing, playing golf, hanging out watching basketball or reality TV during the day, and then clubbing at night then hanging out all day Sunday, bbqing again, and watching Entourage before all heading home on Sunday night to get ready for the next work day.

Although I think once I reach 29 or 30 it'll be weird being the old guy in the club and we'll probably tone it down a bit.

25 isn't really too old for anything.

Of course it is.

Too old for applying to be on The Real World
Too old to start a major league basball career
Too old to date a hot 18 year old
Too old to live in a college dorm

It's too old for lots of stuff.

Never really was my thing, but I went during undergrad. Now that I'm in grad school, I avoid them like the plague and stick to parties and pubs.

Went to my first rave at 22 and even then I thought I was too old. I have to say at 16 I could have easily gotten sucked into that scene, sans the X. At 22, I had too many responsibilities and chores and sense of myself.

Err i didn't really start going to clubs until i was 21 which was two years ago. I don't see the problem at being 25..I would say most people are 23-26...

And to the person who said living like you did in school after you are done is stupid....

what does that mean?

So you shouldn't have fun anymore? Yeah you have more responsibility, and you should be looking to increase your career goals, but why should it mean you can't go out and have fun. Should you only stick to having house parties and having a crazy time on the golf course?

Wow, 25 is a great age to go to the clubs. I went to the clubs pretty regularly until I was 40. Typical singles stuff until I got married at 35 and then still went to the dance clubs at least once a week with my wife until I was 40, when she got pregnant with our daughter and we quit going to the clubs. Now we rarely go.

Dunno what you're smoking. But here in DC area I would say 27 is on the younger side of club goers.

Heh... I just turned 30, and I can relate to a few of those points. At least the hair is still good, anyway

Coincidentally enough, I've been to that exact place; while I'm out at school in Louisiana, a few of my friends from Atlanta will sometimes head to Biloxi for the weekend, so I'll meet them there. I personally didn't enjoy it all THAT much (agreed that the music was generally fairly bad) except for the company, which made it all worthwhile in the end.

If you try not to take the whole deal too seriously, and just head out to have a little fun with some good friends, it usually turns out pretty well.

Edit: And no, clubs are never fun when you have to be the guy who stops all your friends from getting arrested and/or kicked out for throwing up on themselves. Luckily, by the time you hit 25, many people have progressed beyond this type of behavior.
