AM2 Crossfire?

To run crossfire with the x1900 series you still need a crossfire mastercard (except the X1950Pro)

You need to get the same card I do link. As robinson said, the 1950Pro and newer (R600) cards will not have slave/master card versions (just two of the same card) and with an internal connection similar to SLi - except the internal crossfire link allows data transfer in both directions simultaneously. If you go with 1600 or lower series cards you can get away with running crossfire mode through the PCIe bus without bandwidth penalty but with our 1900s it's best to use the external connection. Then there's ATI's Stream computing on top of it all...

BTW, your temps look pretty good. You must have decent flow in your case. I put a Zalman CPU cooler on mine and the CPU temp is a few degrees lower than my board too.

OMG this is taking so long for ati to come out with boards wtf the new asus board i guess is getting good reviews but i really want the DFI board that is what i have been waiting 3 months for and im really starting to get pissed off about it. Newegg had it for 3 days and then it just went pooff and disappeared wtf is up with that. but i guess dfi finally came out with their road map for hte next year and i guess the new dfi board is going to use ati's new sb650
thats right 650 not 600 so im hoping that is what taking so long i am so pissed this is taking so long. i bought a x2 4000+ and a x1800gto thinking that the next gen cards would not be coming out until december but i was wrong and i am pissed off

Build around the M2R32-MVP and X2 4600+ (65W) is mostly done. It fired up and loaded XP Pro without a problem. I'm still waiting for my 1900 crossfire card - it should be here this week. I'll post some numbers once I get crossfire running.

With ATI X1900XTX/Asus X1900 Crossfire, M2R32-MVP, X2 4600+ (65W) and 2G of Corsair, no overclock, I got 29,883 on PCMark03. With just the X1900XTX I got 17,900. I'll try to run more recent benchmarks this weekend.

Agreed. I think most people are waiting for either the LanParty version or Abit's AT9-32X. Things have been pretty quiet lately on both of these boards but they should be out before the holidays (some links earlier in thread).

Just as a point of reference, I ran the 3DMark benchmarks this morning on my M2R32-MVP, X1900XTX crossfire set-up: 3DMark03 - 29,893; 3DMark05 - 13075; 3DMark06 - 8571. All standard settings, no overclock on this. Not breaking any records but it's a lot better than what I was used to with my old socket A, X850Pro AGP system - which I'm still using for some things.

Then its kind of misleading to call that motherboard, a crossfire motherboard. It only has one PCI-e slot. And how exactly does that support Crossfire...

If you're referring to the DFI Infinity board, it has one PCI-e 1X slot. Is has two PCI-e 16X slots for Crossfire support.
