AM4 ITX for Ryzen

The only two I'm aware of are the Biostar in the post above you, and this Gigabyte I found today. No release dates for either as of yet. Oddly, no boards yet using the SFF specific X300 chipset.

Well, sh*t. That looks awesome. ITX AM4 from a reputable manufacturer, with WiFi+bt (not a requirement, but handy from time to time), USB 3.1G2. All nice. Don't care about fancy audio (have a nice headphone DAC/amp for that) or RGB-bling (although I'd gladly play with it for half an hour), but none are deal breakers. Looks like this might be expensive for a B350 board, but that's to be expected for ITX, I suppose.

As for X300, I have a feeling we won't see that until Raven Ridge and mobile Ryzen-based CPUs show up. Or perhaps on NUC-like machines (which again, require Raven Ridge or some sort of integrated/MXM dGPU). I have a feeling AMD were more ambiguous than they meant to be with the whole "SFF" term, and I don't see any reason why they couldn't fit an X370 or B350 chipset on an ITX board. Those huge heatsinks on ATX boards are mostly for show, after all.

I've got an NCase M1 sitting over in the corner that's waiting for a Ryzen build, so I'm following AM4 mobos with great interest. The wait gives me time to watch the early adopters figure out all the kinks, too.

Ease of use is relative - while implementing a smaller chipset might be easier, implementing a brand-new and unknown one isn't easier than one that's a known quantity.

Nope. None announced yet. I've gone as far as to request a return on my 1700X - I don't believe I'll get an ITX board before I can get a 1600X, which was the CPU I was planning to buy in the first place ...

Of course, my "oh all right then, I need to order something" mATX motherboard delivery date constantly being pushed back, week by week, sure didn't help matters.

I guess that's the most common issue across all PC builds There's a reason I'm still rocking a 2008-era Core2Quad, after all. Still, this year I've squeezed a platform upgrade into my budget. Now I just want/need that platform to exist!

Per the below thread, there's an ASRock ITX board coming mid-April using the B350 chipset. I'm not sure I believe it, since there's no official announcement yet, but there it is.

I'd like integrated WiFi/BT (or at least an m.2 to add it later), but other than that, that looks pretty sweet. A densely packed design, for sure, but I wish they'd added a third fan header and used an 8-pin power connector. From an utterly superficial side-by-side comparison with Asus' B150I Pro Gaming, I can't quite tell why the Biostar looks so much more densely packed. The Asus has a bigger chipset heatsink, yet still packs all my requests. Strange. It's not like the socket area is really any bigger either, it's just rectangular rather than square ...

Still, if nothing else comes by (soon-ish), I'll probably get one. I'll just have to get some sort of fan hub. It's not like I actually need Bluetooth or WiFi. And a 4-pin connector should power a 1600X just fine (even if that 4-pin looks like a nightmare to install/remove).

Per posts on Reddit, Biostar's boards, or at least the X370 version, are coming middle of this month. It was a screenshot of what looked like a Facebook private message from the Biostar page.
There was another guy on Reddit claiming that Gigabyte told him June for their board. In an email. No proof.

Until I hear otherwise, that sounds plausible.

Well, no good info as of yet, so rumors are all I've got.

The Biostars actually have product pages, so they're likely to be first. The only info on the GB so far is a leaked slide and a rumored date of June. Which is more info than exists on the ASRock, which rumor has pegged for April. I don't necessarily believe that unless we get more info in the next week.

The mini itx might be late but an advantage is buyers probably get the may bios update for high freq ram and a more mature platform regarding bios with all the benefits of eg better memory latency, memory compatability, not to say bug free. The benchmarks will look good. Lol.

That's a terrible argument. As will every other board at that time, after all, only people could have been using them for a couple of months while patches were made. Oh, and they'll probably work better as they'll have had more time to patch them. I'd rather have that than no board at all.

Looks like all the leaks were spot on. Prices are nice too. Can't say I can tell if there's a single reason to get the X370 version - I thought at least the m.2 slot might be faster or some other dumb crippling of the B350, but it looks like they're identical. Power delivery differences, perhaps? Nothing on the spec sheet, at least. Then again, I don't mind paying $20 extra - even $129 is rather cheap for a good ITX board, after all. I'd gladly buy that.

AsRock ITX coming in June, Gigabyte in late June/early July. r/AMD got responses from both of the companies about ETA. No word yet from Asus or MSI.

Can I wait that long? I don't know. But there isn't a single mATX case out there that is small enough for my tastes and still fits a proper custom water loop. Damn.
