AM4 MB with most SATA, USB 3.1 gen2? Gigabyte AX370 Gaming K5?

I am looking to build a storage server with a new AM4 Motherboard. Therefore, I am looking for best connectivity via SATA for internal drives and USB for external drives.

There a few boards with 8 internal SATA ports, but looking at USB 3.1 Gen 2 10 Gbps port I found only 1 or 2 motherboards. In fact, they seem to only on older X370 chipset not on the newer X470 one.

There are 4 total rear USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports on the Gigabyte AX370 Gaming K5 (also the K7) plus 6 other USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) port. With total of 10 USB 3.1 Gen1/Gen2 + 8 Sata port, it looks to best I can find.

Anyone got any other boards I might have missed out?

Also, any opinions on the Gigabyte AX370 Gaming K5 while we are at it?

The AsRock X370 Taichi and X370 Gaming Pro have 10 sata ports.
Gigabyte X370 boards have 8 sata ports. Asus prime X370 pro also has 8 sata ports.

Of the X470 crop, the Taichis have 8 sata ports, and other than them, only the MSI X470 gaming pro carbon has also 8 sata ports. Gigabyte X470 boards have only 6 sata ports.

The Gigabyte X370 gaming K5 is a very good board. Nice layout, solidly built, allows a 2700X to boost at will

Why not just get a board with a decent number of PCI-e slots and then get StarTech USB 3.1 Gen 2 Cards (in A or Type-C ports) and SATA HBAs like the Broadcom 9217-8i to get you your port counts? That way you avoid driver issues by using standard and widespread controllers, and also get to match up exactly however many ports you want.

Yeah, adding in extra PCE-e add on cards in future plan when I need expansion. Right now, I just want to stick with what the board has. Most of these boards seem to have enough PCI-E 16x width slots that I can use.
