Yes, Ryzen does support ECC, but, the motherboard guys must enable that option in the BIOS.

So does the gigabyte board ... this just means the modules will operate in non-ecc mode, unless confirmed otherwise.

There is a thread specifically about ECC here, where you can see that there are boards where ECC definitely works (errors have been shown to be detected, or the BIOS allows it to be configured), as well as others where it probably does (Linux reports that ECC is enabled).

Some users have also managed to wrangle statements confirming ECC support out of manufacturers too, e.g.

Only GA-AX370-Gaming K7 and GA-AX370-Gaming 5 support ECC memory with ECC mode, it’s related to hardware design.

FYI : I looked at both links, they seem to be using the exact same "images" for both boards.......might still be a work-in-progress in full details at this point, not yet reliable website info.

Cant wait to get the board out for sale though!

I guess i'm ready to upgrade then, if motherboards ever get in stock
