Amazon $30 coupon for opening Amazon Visa -- use same day!

I looked for another post about this, but didn't find one, at least not a recent one.

If you go to Amazon, you will most likely see the offer on one of their pages. Get the Amazon visa card and receive $30 to spend on Amazon shipped stuff the same day. I think this is a pretty good card, besides getting the $30. Very easy to apply for. Only a few questions. If you are approved, you can spend your $30. Just get something that ships from Amazon.com (drugstore.com, target, etc, won't work.) Usually anything with free supersaver shipping is a legitimate Amazon item. It might take a few hours, but when you check out, change your credit card option. You should see your new Amazon visa card in the list. When you get back to your cart, the $30 discount should be applied. Be sure and pick "free" shipping or you will get charged for shipping.

I bought a $46 D-link router with $10 rebate. Cost minus $30 is $16, $18.50 with WA tax. After rebate my final cost is $8.50.

I think this is a pretty reputable Visa card. I have another First USA card and it has been rock solid. Very easy to get $30 coupon fast.

I know that this is just another credit card offer, but in my opinion it is pretty rare to get instant discounts with credit card promos. So if you need something from Amazon and you don't mind having another card, it is a good deal. I primarily use my American Express card, but I have to have a VISA or Mastercard because AMEX is not accepted everywhere. Most likely I'll cancel my other VISA and just keep this one.

I might have jumped the gun on the "instantly" part, because now I remember that I was busy right after I applied for the card, so I didn't actually buy anything until five hours later.

You only get $30 coupon if you use the same card (after you're approved and card sent to you) for your amazon purchase. Still good enough for me. After that I just cut the card up or something hehe.

I didn't see anyware on the Amazon site that shows $30.00 off your first Amazon Visa Card purchase. Even when I applied for it. Can somebody explain please? Or, is it just when they mail it to you and give you a coupon or something. How can you purchase anything with any credit card if you don't have the Visa number to enter in the box when ordering?

You probably should not have applied for the card unless you saw the $30 offer. When I signed up, it was pretty explicit with a very visible link to information about the promo. You don't need to know your credit card number, because Amazon is working with this company and they automatically put the credit card information in your account. This isn't the kind of promo where they send you a coupon code. What you do is order something from Amazon.com, put it in your cart and on the option page, change your credit card to the new Amazon Visa. If you did things right, and you were approved, it should be there after a few hours. Now when you go back to your checkout cart, the $30 discount promo will show. If it doesn't, don't buy the item until you figure it out.

i did this back in january. i had to email them to get my 30 certificate. and i couldn't even use it, so they said they redeemed it into my account. but now it doesn't show up there either. i have no doubt amazon will honor, i just wonder how long it might take...

I'm only 20, but my credit has been pretty decent (over a year with an Amex Blue card, & about a year with Sprint cellular service, both paid on time every month in full), so I think I have an okay chance of getting this. My only concern though is that I keep hearing multiple cards are bad, especially when you are building your credit. I've read advice saying that having only one card is best... what do you guys think?

I too got suckered into this deal. I called customer service 3 times, and they all said you have to wait 30 days to receive your credit card and use your $30.00 coupon TOWARDS YOUR NEXT PURCHASE!!! I hate it when people can't post their hot deals correctly. If you did get to use yours right away, your are an exception rather than the norm. CONGRADULATIONS!

I hope it works for you. I signed up about 6 months ago and after 2 months got the certificate in the mail with a code. I tried using it on apparel...(nope that won't allow you too). Oh well wait a week and try to use it again and it won't take it. Email amazon.com wait a week or so for a response and basically they told me I could go to hell....I say the same to them too.
