Ok, this is not exactly pro grade stuff but for an average homeowner who will use it once every few months, it should do just fine. Most circular saws costs more than this. Friday sale so today only.

Seems decent. Blades are probably crap and the motor won't stand up to anything heavy, but it's good for the occassional DIY'er.

I have never bought a cheap tool and not later regretted it. It always winds up being a waste of money and I ALWAYS wind up just buying a better tool thereafter. Not to mention that cheap tools - particularly saws - can be quite dangerous. For rough carpentry work you might get by with a cheap miter saw but i guarantee your cuts will not be square and the detents will be sloppy. Not to mention you will need to upgrade the blade right away to do any real work - costing $50 more right there.

Not thread crapping but trying to offer some helpful advise. The only reason I would buy a tool like this was to learn about miter saws and their features in general to then guide my purchase of a real tool later. Otherwise spend a few more bucks and get a Makita, Bosch or Rigid...you'll just wind up doing it anyway later on.

There is a lot to be said for quality tools. I have a dewalt chop saw thats at least 15 years old, and has made hundreds of thousands of cuts, and it's still dead on. (I'm a building contractor).

I picked up two of these units at Lowes for $20 each.

They're worth $20, cut good enuf and blade is decent.


Been using mine for projects on-off for a year now, no major probs, just not the easist to adjust settings.

Good deal for occasional DIYers. It doesn't make sense for someone who's going to use a saw twice a year to drop $100-200 on it. I'd personally go for higher quality because I do enough work that it would wear out quickly.
