I know this is not a D-40, but still a really nice camera. Originally 499.00 with a 175$ goldbox discount.

I just ordered it and need to check with the wife before I can see if I can keep it.


Great camera and the price is real nice, its not a D-40 but close second here.

This is a good find. Especially for those who are going to just toss a new one of these on ebay. If your wife won't let you keep it, then ebay it. I am sure the extra money you make from the sale will keep her happy!

When are people going to stop posting amazon gold box deals that are only specific for them in this forum? Noone else can take advantage and, therefore, more belongs in brag and moan. Good grief, enough already.

It is most certainly not the case that "Noone else can take advantage" unless the person posting the deal was notified that there was only one left (which Amazon does do) and took it. These posts belong here just as much as any "YMMV" or "local" deal.

For those who do make it a point to click through their gold box offers, it IS valuable information since accepting an offer precludes you from seeing the rest of your offers for the day. When presented with a warm offer that you might consider as your first option, knowing whether or not there is the potential of a known hot deal behind one of the 4 remaining selections can prove to be a decision maker.

Try getting up on the other side of the bed tomorrow morning. If that doesn't work, feel free to stay out of any thread that has "Amazon Gold Box" in the title if they don't interest you.

You haven't been paying attention, have you?

Many people (myself included) have gotten in on the D-40 deal and others after reading about them here.

As long as posters list "Gold Box" in the thread title, I don't see what the problem is. Just don't click them if you're not interested.

I haven't been able to get anything remotely interesting in my goldbox. Here's what I got in my goldbox today: 2 vacuum cleaners, a set of knives, a blender, and a cutting board.

In the past I bought a tivo, stereo system, software, cds, and books. Why the hell are they offering me products suited for Martha Stewart?

Oh, I don't mind Goldbox offers in Hot Deals. It's nice to know they are working out for some people and it gives me hope.
