I was just reading through here and thought to myself. Self, I never get deals like this. I get garden tools or overpriced joysticks. But I thought what the heck I will check out my gold box for today. Well guess what? Lo and behold Olympus D-40 was my third deal in. Heaven. I quickly checked with the boss to see if I could purchase it. She said sure. And a few quick clicks of the mouse and a promo coupon for $5 off and........$247 out the door.

I just got this in my gold box and have about 20 mins left. Need to decide quick and can't get the wife on the phone. What is Amazon's return policy on this item, just in case she does not approve? ;-) I have never returned an item there before.

Yeah...as reported on other boards, the Gold Box resets every 8 hours or so. Another 3.5 hours until I can try again for this camera.

The correct answer of course is to sell it to me for what you paid for it. Haha. But in reality, you could probably sell it on Ebay for anywhere btw $400-$500 if you really can't keep it. You could probably even call Amazon & cancel the order after you placed it if you had to.

I seemed to have figure out how to get that Olympus Camedia D-40 4MP Digital Camera in "Your Gold Box" (Top right corner after loggin in).

For people who havent opened their gold box yet.

1) View and read a ton of digital cameras within amazon.com. Add them to cart, add them to wish list. Do any thing but NOT checkout.

2) After viewing for about 30 minutes and 1 hours of giving patient to yourself, then click on your gold box and maybe see the camera there today. Yesterday, all i saw was baby thingys. I recalled i was looking/viewing/amazon window shopping at baby thingys last week. Amazon seems to tracking what you look at. So, maybe if you shop, view around on digital cameras, it might come up.

I just picked on up for $252.00 out the door at 3:23pm EST. Amazon said that there were 3 left in stock (before I ordered one), so anyone who is still after one of these should check their Gold Box quickly before the last ones get snatched up by some other lucky ATer.

I dont know if anyone said this already as this thread is huge but if you add the gold box page to your favorites it will always be there for you. I did that a while ago and its always worked for me...now if i could only get rid of the stupid timer....

I think you are right. My goldbox didn't have this deal yesterday and I was wondering if Amazon was tracking hits. I browsed through this Olympus and a couple of other digital cameras at Amazon last night. And today, voila!

WOOT...finally got this camera deal! I called my wife at work and "forced" her to give me her codes to look in her Treasure Box I think the person posting above is right, the offers you get are from different departments that you may not normally shop in...my wife only buys CD's, Books, Toys on Amazon and her box had nothin but electronic stuff in it...I almost bought the 2nd item MP3 player but thought what the hell, and there popped the camera on item number 3. $247 shipped using free shipping and $5 off coupon ( I used the coupon expiring 8/31 and can be found in your normal coupon sites...so JUMP to it <hint>
Anyways, thanks whoever posted this deal! I had just done 2 weeks of camera comparing and was almost ready to buy the Cannon S200...I read all the reviews on this Olympus camera too and they all had excellent things to say...still cant believe they sold this camera for $247 thats crazy...anyways now everyone at work wants one, so maybe one will pop up in my box now or perhaps my wife's again.
