As usual, Amazon gives the giant middle finger to Canadian customers. Steam gets my money again!

Jealous of the US with this sale. There does appear to be some great games for very cheap!

How did they beat them to the punch?

I'm glad (as a consumer) to have choices in getting a good deal. Obviously, when they both have these Holiday Sales at the same time, the one with the lowest priced will get the business.

Wouldn't it make sense (to make more $$) for Amazon to time these sales seperate from Steam's Holiday deal (i.e. prior)?

Sales came out first.

A bit silly since Steam has always updated their store at the same exact time and Amazon update times are before Steams. So technically yes they were "beaten to the punch" but just due to their update times lol

I'm VERY happy we have the choice/competition.

Everyones holiday sale just falls and over laps with everyone else know simply due to the season and everything revolving around Dec 25th really. IMO, I think Amazon/other digital distros would be better to make their own sales time frames instead of just doing the same ones Steam does (and continue to do the Steam ones). Spring is a perfect time that no one takes advantage of as an example.

They were beaten to the punch because Amazon put out their sale first. You don't think they intentionally started it first when Steam's sale dates were leaked? Come on, man.

I'm also in the market for the new XCom games and haven't even bought XCom EU yet. I found this EU/EW bundle for $20 total: http://www.amazon.com/XCOM-Pack-Onli...489253&sr=1-24.

It requires Steam so I'm thinking of just jumping on it now rather than waiting for the inevitable extra discount Steam will likely be offering later in their sale. For reference, EU and EW are each listed at $20 on Steam right now, which is a 50% discount. They'd have to drop more than an additional 25% for it to be a better deal on Steam. At best, I see them matching the $20 deal. I can always wait on purchasing the games from Amazon until the games are discounted on Steam, but I thought I'd post the question here anyway.

Any thoughts on if this is likely to be the cheapest bundle of these two games this holiday sale season?

Tried this last sale & it didn't work. They're now referencing billing address, not shipping address.

Make giftcards to yourself and use that money to buy stuff. I live in Denmark and have bought several digital titles from amazon.com (US). Also using a vpn tunnel.

I only have Enemy Unknown but yes I want to get Enemy Within when its around $15. Bottom line is EU is worth $20 by itself.
Edit: not sure if it includes Sling Shot DLC but I enjoyed that too, its worth the couple of dollars it costs

Nothing on that list for the Steam games screams out to me to purchase them. Might look through the others later but I'm not sure that I'll find anything that I want to buy or know I will play once I have bought it.

It is probably more entertaining then Dungeon Siege 3 which is on sell for a similar price.

Almost anything would be. I rage-quit DS 3 at the Rajani boss battle. You're locked into the area, and it's a very annoying fight even if you change the difficulty down to "casual".
