The friday sales have really sucked lately. I was expecting more in the month following christmas but they haven't impressed me at all.

On a side note, I think my goldbox is broken. For the past 3 or 4 months I have been getting jewelry items on at least 5 out of 10 of my goldbox items. I have never bought jewelry from them and I never plan to. It seems like they are jipping me out of 5 of my 10 goldbox offers by putting so much jewelry in there. On top of that, I'm starting to realize that they are showing me the same jewelry every time. I never paid much attention to what the items were or what their costs were at first, but now I'm recognizing the exact same items every time I open my gold box. Is this happening to anyone else?

The Weber Genesis grill for $499 is an awesome deal. Free shipping too! If anyone is in the market for a grill, this is a top choice.

As for the Goldbox issue in the above post, I too have been getting a ton of jewelry offers as well. And yes some are the same items each time. The Goldbox isn't as hot as it once was.

I agree, plus it's natural gas so you can hook it up to your main gas line.

Whats up with the Le Creuset 5-1/2-Quart Round French Oven, Cherry Red for 129.00, does a Genie pop out of this when your meal is done. Anyone know why a simple pot like this would command a price of 130.00

Le Creuset makes killer cookware. Heavy cast iron with an enamel coating. The cast iron traps and holds heat far better than just about anything else. Which makes it ideal for slow cooking. Think of it this way:

Let's say you're supposed to cook a roast for 2 hours at 375 degrees. Nobody's oven actually stays at 375. The thermostat will probably fire up the heating element at about 365, and keep it on until it hits 385. Then the oven will cool back down until it fires up again. If you're using lightweight cookware (which doesn't retain heat) the inside of the covered roasting pan, and your roast, will fluctuate in temperature as well.

However... Assume the same oven, but cooking with Le Creuset (or really, any covered cast iron pan). The temperature of the oven fluctuates, but the inside of the pan barely changes from the mid-point of 375. Voila, more even heating. This yields more tender meat, and certainly tastier.

So there's the argument for cast iron. Now do you need Le Creuset to achieve this? No. But the enamel coating means that cleanup is a lot easier. And there's no need to "season" the pan which MUST be done with regular cast iron. It also looks nice so you can serve straight to the table. (if you really care about that sort of thing)
