Or...since this is a continuous problem, why not modify the forums to not allow Amazon referral links? In theory, it could be set up so that any time the system runs across a link that contains 'amazon.com' and 'redirect?tag=', it will not allow that link to be posted, and warn the poster.

With a few other minor modifications, the system could also automatically ban the poster if they try to post an Amazon referral more than a couple times.

FW, as you know, deals with referral links in another manner - it just replaces them with FW referral

Thats the point. If these forums allowed referral links, EVERYBODY would be doing it, and the forum would go down the tube because it would turn into a big mess of spam.

Thats why the moderators exist. We need to get rid of these people so that the rest of us actually have a decent place to go to discuss deals.

If we keep allowing it to happen, it is going to give everyone else the impression that they can do it to.

Speaking of Amazon, anyone have an idea what their problem is lately? Their web site has been awfully flakey for the last two or three months, and their ability to ship orders promptly is the pits.

I ordered a couple of books from US Amazon last week, plus a third book from Amazon UK the same day. All were shown as ships/dispatches in 24 hours. I paid standard shipping for both orders. I received the order from Amazon UK this Tuesday. The books from Amazon U.S. didn't even ship until yesterday (Thursday), and may not arrive until April 14. That's 2-3 weeks to ship books a few hundred miles. It's the third time since December they've taken over a week just to ship an in-stock order. I'll be trying B&N next time.
