FTFY...If this is the worst thing to happen inyour lifethe past few days congrats.
Amazon's, or the OP's? Judging by her (if that is "her" real name) word choice and the overall tenor of the OP, you'd think they'd killed her puppy and shipped it back to her in a 2-day Prime box, for heaven's sake...This aggression will not stand!

No doubt it helps a lot that I'm in a major metro area, but I've actually never not gotten a package that showed up in the shopping cart as scheduled to arrive within two days but that didn't in fact do so. A few times things that were marked "Prime eligible" have shown up in my cart with projected arrival dates later than that, which is annoying, but at least it was made clear before I finalized the orders, so I can't complain that those were "unexpected delays". And fwiw, those have always involved delays in getting them out in the first place, not failure to receive within two days from shipment...It'd probably show up late considering Prime's shipping record..... in fact you wouldn't need to kill the puppy. Just put it in the Prime box and it will starve before it gets to the destination.

Well, they certainly make that easy enough.. I myself have a basically "tolerate/hate" relationship with them (the hate mostly having to do with what I consider questionable business practices like their review policies, product listing habits, and their incredibly obnoxious search engine that almost always returns products that aren't really what you're looking for without bothering to note the fact, if it can't give you a clear match). Also their "habit" of not sending email reminders about renewal dates for auto-renewing "subscriptions", including Prime itself unless you expressly turn on the notification. I find that incredibly, well, basically just tacky (as well as money-grubbing, of course...) It annoys me no end how many people treat the company like it's the "only place on the Internet to buy stuff" but, as much as Amazon encourages that, I really can't blame them for the consuming population's stupidity in buying into it. It's not like web search engines don't exist and people are somehow prevented from comparison shopping, and so much more easily than was possible before the Web existed... They just don't do it. Nor is the company any worse than the many other retailers throughout modern history that started out as a "discount houses" and then turned into monsters once they knew/decided enough of their customer base had been "hooked"...So I guess I'm just bitching for the sake of bitching - Amazon has been good to us so far.
Amazon have treated me appallingly
How I wish i can delete all my negative reviews on ebay lol
If anyone is wondering, the reviews in question were slams - actually, merciless obliterations would be a better description - of a couple of the posthumous Dune-prequel so-called-literary excrescences, including comments along the lines of wondering just how desperate for money Frank Herbert's heirs must've been to have abetted the books' publication, even ignoring their participation in their authorship despite clearly not having inherited even a microscopic fraction of Frank's talent. (Although I enjoyed the Dune books, once through was enough and I wasn't what you'd call a "fan" of even Frank himself. But his books were deathless masterworks by comparison to any of the far-too numerous "prequels" that were published after his death. And since the said heir(s) had made themselves "public figures" at least as author(s) and copyright holder(s) of the books, I thought my comments weren't unfairly personal.) At some point I edited them to remove the worst of the "personal" aspects, though maybe even adding a little more content-oriented condemnation. Dunno if that was the tipping point or my having bulked up my overall review count.
Because Amazon too away her ability to write reviews. Can't breach the policy if you can't write reviews *taps forehead*How would you know not to do it again?
I've loathed Amazon ever since they suspended my account because one customer complained about how long the shipping was taking. I got the item back a few days later as unable to be delivered, took a picture showing the exact same address written on the package as was given to me by the buyer... Amazon didn't care. Refunded the buyer through their A to Z policy (fine whatever) and then permanently banned me from selling for life. F#ck them.
That's closer to my Amazon Experience. I posted a thread on this before, but worth repeating.
Years as a prime customer, Fire HDX, Kindle, FireTV, Echo, Echo Dot, etc.
They offered forums and I posted on them. They did repeated mass bannings on the forums - everyone got the same form letter than after careful review they had made a 'spiteful' post, and were now banned from posting on Amazon - permanently. With previous posts and reviews removed for good measure.
So now, I can't go on Amazon and post a review, or post a question about a product. They've since gotten rid of their forums - no change.
So, ya, I cancelled prime and nearly all my buying on Amazon, and given other reasons to not shop at Amazon there are some benefits. They deserve boycotting with this behavior.
What was the reason you got banned on the forums for?
I've never even tried to read a third, but I have to admit I squeaked past one into a second. Briefly. The first one I read - about the "Butlerian Jihad", I think? - was short, "action-packed", and didn't take even a minor a stab at the sort of pseudo-philosophical maundering Frank Herbert excelled at (but which I nonetheless found trite, superficial, and uninteresting). It was awful, but hilariously awful and not so "badly written" in any technical sense that I managed to make it through to the end without totally losing it. But then I tried to read one of the others, that did try to imitate the general style of the original books. Big mistake. I didn't quite puke, but despite the fact that I usually make heroic efforts to finish any book I start, I literally just could not make it past page 40 or so... All of its many other sins aside, the worst was that it seemed to have been written by a high school student doing an independent-study "creative writing" project... that deserved no more than a "C" even then. I found myself constantly having to force myself not to actually pick up a blue pencil and edit every fifth word as I (tried to) read it. If I ever find myself stuck in solitary confinement with another one of them, I might possibly give it a shot if it's similar to the first one I read. But if it's like the second, I'd either just use it for TP, to start a fire to relieve the monotony, or possibly just rip out the pages, ball them up, and stick 'em between my toes for no reason at all. But I certainly wouldn't read it, even then...Sounds like you didn't got far enough! I started reading one of them, puked, then never read another post Frank Herbert Dune novel again.
Did they really? I hadn't even noticed, but just imagine that. I wonder if Amazon finally 86ed them out of sheer embarrassment? They've since gotten rid of their forums.

I never participated on them regularly - I always felt like I'd landed in the middle some cult compound off in some sparsely populated region Out West Somewhere when i found myself checking out a thread or three via a web search hit - and even less often would post an actually-helpful comment, which almost by definition was apparently heresy in the context of the general "that's-a-feature-not-a-bug, Amazon can do no wrong" atmosphere of the whole place. But then at some point I posted a "negative" remark about some or another Amazon policy and I swear, what must've been at least half a dozen screeching (hopefully drugged-up) Amazonatics came after me - apparently thinking they were flailing me alive with their words, and/or that I gave half a damn... After that, I simply never bothered to back, figuring there wasn't even sentient, much less intelligent, life there and that anyone foolish enough to post a question or serious comment there after looking at a couple of existing threads deserved whatever they got...
It never occurred to me to look anything but the Amazon-related (policy and/or products) forums and threads there, so that's all I was really referring to. The Amazonatics I so often came across in those contexts made every other group of "fanpersons" I've ever encountered any time, anywhere look like inexperienced pikers. The self-righteously vicious lather so many people worked themselves up into over a freaking business they had no (rational) personal stake in was truly amazing...<smh>There were some better people there and some better discussions. It was actually the best and worst discussions I've found on the JFK assassination.
I wonder if they will ban me from purchasing since I never leave a good or bad review.
What? You don't believe - unlike so many Amazon reviewers and question-answerers - that you're affirmatively obligated to post one or two word "reviews" (even before you've received or used the item, as the case may be), or "answer" questions you don't even understand, just because Amazon sends you email requesting it? What a concept!I never leave a good or bad review.
