dual bank simply means the DIMM is double sided. For example single banked RAM might have 8 chips on 1 side whereas dual banked may have 16 chips, 8 on each side of the DIMM.

This is so upsetting. I ordered 6 of them for the princely sum of $3.48, which includes shipping and tax. You are right, I am going to be destroyed if this deal backfires. I'll have to eat Top Ramen for the next year to make up for my loss. You sure are going to get the last laugh Drac.

I once had an DEC AlphaStation die on me and I took the dimms (they looked funky) out of it and stuck it into a p2 I had laying around. Sure enough, it worked! Don't give up hope, even if it is listed as proprietary memory, it may still work.. On the other hand, the memory for my current servers is way more than 168 pins, they're huge.

In all my days using DEC products, I've never seen any silly products such as &quot;simm doublers&quot; from them. People who buy server class hardware rarely employ cost cutting measures such as doubling anything. Chances are this is a perfectly useful dimm (likely with parity).

I ordered from several different sites when this was first posted(a few here, a few there). Got emails today from two of the companies cancelling my orders. Dartec and some little squirrel co. I haven't heard from Amazon yet or two of the other sources I ordered from. Here's hoping.

I don't believe we are ever going to get any of these. Amazon just cancelled a different order of mine after showing it as 'in stock, ready to ship' for a week. It was greenhouse plastic.

I ordered another size as a back up a few days later (Flex-o-Glass), they still have it up on the site and show it as in stock ready to ship--I'm taking bets they cancel this one also!

They are going to take such a fall this quarter! Sending out 8 cent bungee cords priority mail one to a box, while cancelling larger items. Even with their bate and dump tactics I don't believe they can make money the way they are pissing away shipping costs.

I could roast a pig with the cardboard they have sent me in the last couple of weeks.

In case you can't tell, I want my damn greenhouse plastic!!! :|
