Amazon is slowly but surely transitioning their business model to a paid for subscription service. In a few years there probably won't be any logical reason to buy anything off Amazon without Prime at all.

For sure, and I'm not surprised about it at all.

I'm a Prime member and have zero complaints. I've had one bad item arrive out of god knows how many, and the return process was stupid simple. The two day shipping has never been screwed up once - it's always on time as indicated when I checkout. On top of that, I've used their video streaming almost daily without any issues.

With an ATOT salary, $99 a year is pennies. It's completely worth it IMO. I don't have to deal with stupid fucking people that roam this planet to buy simple things such as toilet paper anymore. Oh, and it's usually cheaper than the stores as well. 100% worth it.

You mean I can't buy from Costco or Sams Club without being a member!?!?
Amazon Prime is the online equivalent.

Agree. I don't go to the hardware store much anymore.
I don't want to wonder around for an hour, then wait in a 20 person line just to buy a damn hose attachment.

Amazon Prime phone app, one click check out, free same day, 1 day or 2 day delivery... and its on my door step.

Amazon is the future.

Fine by me

If Sam's Club can get away with charging people to shop at a cleaner Walmart then Amazon might as well jump on the subscription wagon

Link redirected me to AMazon.ca where it's available and for CA$ 54.99. If you live close to the border... that's like US$ 40 plus customs and VAT.

Actually, it's the present!

Also, once again, this is a repost.

Holy crap Amazon needs money, they're pushing Prime HARD.

I bought a baby gate few weeks ago. I need to buy another one, suddenly it's for Prime members only- in other words, I can't buy it at all. What the fvck?

Not to mention the easiest 'one-button to enroll in Prime' everywhere on the website.

Did Amazon maliciously made my previous purchase into prime only or is it a coincidence?
So, I was curious, and I just got off the phone with Jeffy B (I can call him that because we're bros), and he says yes, he thinks you're a dick, so they specifically made that only available for Prime users because he saw you buy one. He also said that even if you signed up for Prime, it was gonna be $544.17 once you put it in your cart.
And that you're a poopypants (he's kinda juvenile sometimes).

Well, it is not completely true. At Sam's, you can buy items cheaper than at WMs such as Gift Cards in my case. Just for that alone, my membership (in which I pay about $25 instead of $45 regular price because of online coupon) is worth it.

Another thing, I won't drive over 1 hour just to shop at Costco even I hear good things about them but I can click on other sites such as Jet, eBay easily when their prices are cheaper than AZ.

They started this ploy a couple weeks ago. It serves no purpose other than to annoy the excluded people. "See this? Can't have it!" Oh well. Be a dick then. Way to endear yourself.

I tried Prime back in 2012 or so. Do not want.

Is this actually a good baby gate? It looks nice, and I need one.
It is a good baby gate, but since this is Amazon they cut through some of the rungs because the Amazon execs giggle when they hear about a baby falling down the stairs.

Too lazy for screenshot, but here's copy & paste:

Important messages about items in your Cart:
1 item in your Cart is exclusively for Prime members and has been Saved for Later.
Regalo Home Accents Extra Tall Walk Thru Gate, Hardwood and Steel
To purchase this item, Join Prime.

Also on the item's front page:

Exclusively for Prime Members
This item at $44.16 is reserved for Prime members. Details

Cancel anytime.

Is it a coincidence? Is this item PRIME only for you too?

http://www.amazon.com/Regalo-Accents-Extra-Hardwood-Steel/dp/B00L8JIO4G?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

Just click the "Buy from other sellers" on the right of your screen. There is one for $51.59 with free shipping. Not sure what Amazon charges for shipping to non-prime members but it sounds like it would be fairly close in final price.

Also, do they have larger versions that can prevent women from leaving the kitchen?

You want the invisible fence with the elctro-shock collar for that, works much better. It does take a bit of trial and error to dial in the perfect voltage but well worth it in the end.
