Holy crap Amazon needs money, they're pushing Prime HARD.

I bought a baby gate few weeks ago. I need to buy another one, suddenly it's for Prime members only- in other words, I can't buy it at all. What the fvck?

Not to mention the easiest 'one-button to enroll in Prime' everywhere on the website.

Did Amazon maliciously made my previous purchase into prime only or is it a coincidence?

They are finding new ways to be "creative" in getting people to get Prime, so, this is more like testing the waters.
They already do this on some games as well.
You can get prime, cancel it before 30 days, and be done with it if you want.

Amazon is slowly but surely transitioning their business model to a paid for subscription service. In a few years there probably won't be any logical reason to buy anything off Amazon without Prime at all.

Yup, Amazon is pushing Prime very very hard on my end. Their prices are higher than ebay and other outlets lately. Even Best Buy ($150 plus sale tax for a 27" HP flat screen while it was $200 for one at AZ).

The only thing I am stuck with Amazon because I get pay by AZ gift cards and I have to buy stuffs from them with those GC's.

While I don't have a link because I closed the window after I saw it. The other day I was trying to order a supplement and it said I had to be a Fresh member to order it. I looked into it, I would have needed Prime PLUS the Fresh membership upgrade.
