Yeah the curved one was the only one that has popped as of now and supposedly the flat one is still to come. I hope I can get one for my home office.

Anyone know of a 10ft cable, one or two pack, from amazon prime, that does fast charging for the galaxy s6? Having trouble finding decent cables that are for sure to work with fast charging.

Meh. I guess people found the occasional item but on the whole, it's been one of the, if the not the, lamest "sales event/s" I've seen in a very, very long time, especially factoring in all the hype... (Although I can't say I wasn't warned, most of the "sales/deal sites" - at least the ones that don't earn significant commissions from Amazon - said pretty much the same thing in their reviews of/blog posts leading up to it...)

Elixer - yes, thank you.

Naeeldar - They had a lot of decent pc games on sale like doom. A lot of the games were close to 50% off.

If we learned anything from last year's sales event, most of the stuff is random and the adjusted pricing may not be that much.

I also couldn't help noticing that a LOT of stuff (not stuff on sale, but stuff in similar categories, was somewhat "surprisingly" listed at full MSRP, or maybe $1-2 lower, rather unusual for Amazon pricing in general...:whiste:

Yeah, there was some stuff that seemed worth buying if one were in the market for it. I wasn't really "in the market" for anything in particular, and while there were a couple of things I started to go for (a pair of sneakers for example), by the time I'd browsed another dozen or so pages after putting them in my cart, the deals for the items in question had ended, and there really wasn't anything I saw that I was willing to pull the trigger on without doing some price comparison/review searching on... Everything else I might have gone for was discounted by so little that it just didn't seem worth grabbing as "impulse purchases".

And one thing in particular really pissed me off. Maybe I "should've known" about it, but I didn't, but apparently not only are/were the deals limited in time "overall," they were limited in time after one put them in one's cart. A couple of things timed out in my cart and despite the fact that the "deal" itself remained only only partially claimed (ie, 20%), and I couldn't get them back into my cart at the "Prime Day" price no matter what I tried. And I wasn't willing to call and try to wheedle a "special favor" out of customer service (if I'd have been successful anyway...) Between the number of totally piss-poor deals one had to wade through and the lukewarm discounts on most of what was worth looking at, it just left me quite cold... Made last year's Black Friday Weekend seem like the Deal of the Decade, which is saying something.

Amazon runs on thin margins anyway, they can't discount much. All they can do is offer some loss leaders for page views. The Xbox deal was pretty good for those that wanted it. With my expectations set from last year, this wasn't a bad one. I got a gift for my daughter's birthday that she wanted for X-mas at 30% off, so some good came from it.

That may be true (though of course their overhead is much lower than brick & mortar retailers), but they can certainly bombard one with emails like they're going to... This was the first year I've had Prime, so I really didn't know exactly what to expect. Even with what I'd read to curb my enthusiasm, I was totally underwhelmed by the actual reality of it. Hardly a big deal let alone the end of the world, just kind of annoying...

What can I say? I'm not a fan of Amazon and haven't been for some time now. I do have Prime, and using the at least half-a-brain I like to think I have, I get some good-to-very-good deals on an ongoing basis, but between a lot of shady third-party sellers, their extremely shady search engine "steering"/"marketing" practices, and the huge explosion in "honest opinion for free or discounted product" reviews they certainly didn't have to allow in the first place* (and which have, imnsho, gotten totally out of control), I just get more disenchanted with the company with every passing month...

* Indeed, Amazon actually started the practice itself with what I think is the now-defunct "Vine Free Product" review nonsense, but at least those were clearly highlighted without relying on the individual reviewers to indicate it themselves, which I'm quite sure, judging from the wording and tenor of so many reviews, that more or more of them ever day seem to be "forgetting" to do...

I scored a nice weight tree w/ dual chrome bar holder from amazon warehouse, 27% off + free shipping. Killer deal since workout equipment rarely ever goes on sale for over 25% off. Haven't seen any this nice on CL lately.

The 55" flat (UN55KU6300) is live at BB for $600 as of 4:54p central, if you're ok with paying $50 more than Amazon.

Strongly debating picking one up... I have no real need though.

So I drove down to BB and the sale happened to go live as I was driving there. They price matched the $550. The guy did say though that it's totally store managers discretion as he had some customers come in today from other stores who were refusing to pm the prime day deals.

Kinda strange since they were selling the curved model for the exact same price as amazon without needing to pm.
