^ it says shipped 3/19. And shipping speed is 2-day. If you didn't receive it and USPS is still awaiting the pkg, then it's not the seller's fault. They got it out 3 days after the order (not great, but ok for 3rd party), and as I mentioned before, Prime only entitles you to 2-day shipping method, which is what the seller selected to ship with as indicated on the receipt. If there's a performance issue there, you should contact the seller too.

I don't know if Amazon is purposely being vague about what Prime entails, but what was explained to me is what actually occurred. And in this case too. 2-day shipping.

It is "shipped" when a shipping label is printed. Last I checked it was "usps is awaiting delivery of the item"

They never delivered it to USPS
I can't post any of that because now tracking doesn't go through

Maybe I missed it, but have you contacted the seller about this? They should be able to tell you how and when it got out.

Well, it's "shipped" when the seller gets it to USPS...

JFC, finally

They are straight up lying about their fulfillment policy.
Shit happens. I've had prime for like 6 years now and probably had 10 or so packages not arrive in time, and I just talked to them over chat and either got compensated in Amazon credit or had my Prime extended by a month. It's really not a big deal.

Here, Prime just means shipping speed of 2-days, no promise of when you'll receive it. Find out from the seller when it was released from their hands and how.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201118070

Also:
  • If the item you're ordering is out of stock or unavailable to ship immediately, the shipping method time starts when the item ships. For example, it will take two business days after an item ships to reach you with Two-Day Shipping.

Only if this seller and this specific item was listed as both Prime and "fulfilled by Amazon."

Pantoot said: It's true, some sellers do seller fulfilled prime shipping. It's pretty rare.
SEE YOU GUYS?

In that case it would be listed as Prime but NOT as "fulfilled by Amazon." In that case the Prime benefit is just free shipping, not also Amazon's fulfillment.

Unfortunately the order details don't tell us, and since R&D has a mix of fulfilled and non-fulfilled items knowing the seller does not tell us either.

So, as a satisfied customer since 1997 I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume you misread the listing then flew off the handle when you thought you'd been cheated.

Nonsense like this is why I will no longer buy anything from an Amazon 3rd-party seller unless its a company that's a "known-quantity" and which has a reputation of its own to protect beyond Amazon. (even then I'm extremely hesitant)

^ Surprised it's not full of 3rd party sellers like an Ebay by now. How do they keep that in check?

Guys, I've already been given a month of free prime and the seller has been contacted. I was given the option of a refund or they would contact the seller. I chose the latter

I made the thread to discuss how their ''fulfilled by amazon" program isn't always 'at an Amazon warehouse' like they say it is.

Well, it's "shipped" when the seller gets it to USPS...
Nope, that's not how it works. 'Shipped' in Amazon's system = a shipping label has been created

Me too. Amazon has given me great customer service, and even overnighted me stuff that was misdelivered.

This is a weird issue that I thought was noteworthy

The key takeaway is 'fulfilled by amazon' says it is shipped from Amazon warehouses, and that is not actually true

I would have just spent the extra $1 or 2 for a copy actually warehoused by amazon, had I known about all this. Or spent a couple bucks less and bought from a non prime 3rd party

I posted a link to the seller's profile. If you're on a PC you can see their other listings. They all say prime and fulfilled by Amazon

I was told by a cs rep that 3rd party sellers sometimes ship directly with prime

This was news to me, so I made a thread

It might possibly have not been true in this one specific case if the listing (which no longer exists) really did say "fulfilled by Amazon" and not just "free shipping" or "Prime." Amazon giving you compensation to quiet a squeaky wheel isn't proof of that.

One possibly mislabeled item in a million is not "false advertising" to me, any more than a one in a million price mistake on an item listing where they don't then give you the 1 TB SSD for $29.

"False advertising" would be an intentional, widespread pattern of mislabeled items.

They all say prime and fulfilled by Amazon

Their FIFA 18 listing was not Prime, so their stock is a mix of Prime and not-Prime.

Right, but that's lies. USPS doesn't care if the sender sits on it for a month - their 2-day timer starts when they get the package in their hands, not a second before.

And their FIFA 18 posting doesn't have free 2 day shipping, or say prime anywhere. I have posted evidence of free 2 day shipping with the invoice. That means it was prime. I also was told by the cs rep that prime allows 3rd parties to ship direct (tho I didn't get screenshots)

I didn't decide to make up a pack of lies with screenshots people. Occam's razor this

I don't think you're lying, just overstating what Amazon does wrong

There are at least 4 categories of free shipping:
- Fulfilled by seller, shipping is either paid or free
- Prime free shipping, fulfilled by seller --- I've never seen this, but the CS rep in chat told you it exists
- Prime free shipping, third party fulfilled by Amazon
- Prime sold by Amazon

For this item the shipping was apparently ( Prime free shipping, fulfilled by seller ).

The questions are:
- Was it labeled that way, or was it labeled as ( Prime free shipping, third party fulfilled by Amazon ) -- unfortunately there's no way to know without a screen capture of the listing. R & D has a mix of different Prime/non-Prime items.
- If it really was mislabeled, how often does that happen?

"False advertising" implies it was intentionally mislabeled. I'm not in any hurry to believe that based on my own long history with Amazon and it not making good business sense.

That's the thing, they don't, anywhere I can see, post the "Prime free shipping, fulfilled by seller" option anywhere. They represent Prime free shipping, fulfilled by seller as Prime free shipping, third party fulfilled by Amazon. If I had known that this was the former I would have just spent a couple bucks more and purchased one in the latter.

It's false advertising bc fulfilled by seller is going to be a lower cost option for them than storing the inventory, themselves;

Now, it looks like my wife won't get her Assassins creed fix for a while

A quick google search...

http://www.bobsledmarketing.com/blog/reduce-amazon-fba-fees-with-the-seller-fulfilled-prime-program

So it does exist.

https://www.channeladvisor.com/blog...illment-by-amazon-and-seller-fulfilled-prime/

EDIT:

I learned something new today, I had no clue this was even a thing. I've only ever purchased anything that is shipped and sold by Amazon or fulfilled by Amazon though so this won't change anything.

Huh, I was wondering if the CS rep might have been mistaken about this option existing since I've never seen it before.

So either the one item was mislabeled, or it was set to this very uncommon option and preslove misread the listing. Which is understandable since most of us didn't know that form of Prime existed.

Either way, this thread does serve as a warning that "Prime" does not always mean it's shipped by Amazon. So read the "fulfilled by" even for Prime.
