Amazon treats different prime customers so differently, some at treated like garbage.

Seems like for some Amazon Prime customers, amazon makes zero effort to help them when a product shows up late. No offers of refunding the cost of the product, no offers of extended prime, nothing at all. Amazon doesn't give a shit about these customers satisfaction. The attitude of the Amazon rep is very nonchalant about packages shipping late. I was one of these customers until I complained more and now they at least offer me 1 month of extra prime when my shipment comes late.

Other Prime customers, they bend over backwards for, giving them not all an extra month of prime, but the item for free as well. What gives, I had to threaten to not renew my prime and shit for them to even consider offering me an extra month.'

Edit: Damn it, this was suppose to be in Off-Topic.

This is why I keep recycling student prime from my old college email accounts. Paying for prime is just asking for disappointment.

I've never had any real issue. A couple times my packages have been late but I just rolled with it and didn't cause a fuss. Did I really need that "whatever" item in 2 days? No. My life was just fine without it before so is an extra day or too going to make all the difference? No.

I've never had a problem with them, so I guess I'm on the good customer list not the evil one

Bring in someone, use them up, then throw them to the curb and get a new body. As a species, we've even gone to the extent of holding workers captive without pay, while also lamenting the expense of the bits of food needed to merely keep them alive.

I ordered some zip ties from Amazon and it was a day later than they said it would be!!

Amazon apologized and gave me a $100 gift certificate and they flew me in their very own corporate jet to their regional office and gave me a tour and bought me lunch!!

And the little bastards want to come up from the basement!! All I hear is complaints. "My blisters hurt" "I don't like cat food" "The water has mosquito larvae in it"... It never ends... I guess this should go in the fwp thread... :^S

I believe policy is you can write CS and they give you 1 free month of Prime (which is true, I did it once) but only up to twice per year (i.e. 2 months of extension).

I love Prime, I can buy & return with essentially impunity and it has spoiled the crap out of me to the point where I look on Amazon to see if they have what I want before I buy it anywhere else, within a reasonable price window (5-10%) just to get it in 2 day.

It irks me that 2 day shipping from Wednesday or Thursday can be Monday or Tuesday the following week because weekend delivery is an additional premium - that isn't really 2-day at all, is it? But, I do receive items on Saturday (and Sunday!) without paying the premium so really it's a wash, just have to watch when I order stuff.

Non-prime member here and have had nothing but great customer service when things go wrong (defective/damaged item (still useable) they let me keep free, not shipped when almost due to arrive that get next-day'd, etc.)

I think your problem is the expectation that they've set since you're paying for it. Sucks for both of you.

No, you can get perma-banned from Amazon for doing too many returns. If that happens, they nuke your account so you can't even access old orders. I'm paranoid about that, so I do not do any returns unless absolutely necessary. I buy like $20-25K worth of stuff from Amazon a year so I don't want to lose that.

Here's what that letter looks like:

Hello,

A careful review of your account indicates that you've requested replacements or refunds on a majority of your orders for a variety of reasons.

In the normal course of business, we expect there may be occasional problems. However, the rate at which such problems have occurred on your account is extraordinary, and it cannot continue. Effective immediately, your Amazon.com account is closed, and you will no longer be able to shop in our store.

All other accounts related to yours have also been closed. If you were to open a new account, it would also be closed. We will not accept the return of any additional orders placed under a new account, and we won't issue further refunds for those orders. We appreciate your cooperation.

Going forward, any questions must be directed to cis@amazon.com. Please do not contact Amazon's Customer Service department, as they will no longer be able to assist you.

Best regards,

Account Specialist

I've had nothing but perfect interactions with Amazon CS. They have always resolved my issue the way I wanted it without directly asking for it, usually a partial refund of shipping charges.

I am NOT a prime member.

With the $5 pantry credit option, I'm willing to wait on almost every delivery now.

I've built up some $200+ in Amazon pantry credit that way.

I also had to get nasty with them last week. They extended Prime a month and offered me a $10 promo. It still sucks though as the amp I ordered which didn't show up was a really good deal. It cost me $40 more to get a slightly different amp somewhere else.

It also ticks me off when I see others getting offers for $29 Kindles. Why the hell would I buy one at $79 or $50 on sale when I know there is a chance of getting one for $29.

I have to like Amazon... they occasionally ship my wife things that she didn't even order due to a shipping error and let us keep them!

The last thing we got this way was a clutch kit for a Subaru. I don't even own a Subaru, but I made a few bucks selling it on eBay.

STFU... Those are genuine, top of the line workers. You should try to be more like them. You're just jealous they spend all their time working and crying. They get to brag to their friends how they work 100 hours a week. What do you do?

damn that's cold...

A former human resources executive said she was required to put a woman who had recently returned after undergoing serious surgery, and another who had just had a stillborn child, on performance improvement plans, accounts that were corroborated by a co-worker still at Amazon. “What kind of company do we want to be?” the executive recalled asking her bosses.

The mother of the stillborn child soon left Amazon. “I had just experienced the most devastating event in my life,” the woman recalled via email, only to be told her performance would be monitored “to make sure my focus stayed on my job.”

I'm not a Prime member, but I ordered something with same day shipping and it didn't come for 3 days. I contacted them on day 2, and they tried to make it out like they had nothing to do with it.

"If it's not an item that's directly sold by Amazon, or fulfilled by us, we can't guarantee you'll get it the same day. Check that 1st before you order next time" was their initial reply to me.

Say WHAT? I've never seen same day shipping on an item that was a 3rd party, because no such thing exists. If it's same day shipping it's directly from Amazon of fulfilled by them. I called them out on this and FINALLY got them to offer free same day shipping me the next item I ordered. Gee thanks..

They have horrible horrible CS if I base it off the 2 times I've had to deal with them. But after reading that article in the link it sounds like working for would produce such asshats as the one I had to deal with.

Last year, I had several late packages and I finally called them and complained. They refunded my Prime membership fee but let me keep the membership.

In your case, they probably read your posts here and realized what a whackadoodle you are and are hoping you'll leave.
