Amazon's Kindle - Can it display pdfs?

I was wondering if anyone knows if Kindle can display pdf format files. I am tempted to get one as I read more often than gaming and watching tv lately but might wait for a price drop.

Any info would be appreciated.

Unofficially supported. Probably not. They do offer service where they convert the pdf for you for free, but then they email it to your account, which will cost you a fee..

Interesting. I thought that in David Pogue's review in the NYT he was reading PDFs on it. That was a significant selling point for me, not that I have decided to drop $400 on one yet, but I am tempted.

Very interesting product. I don't mind reading books, I do mind carrying them around. Going to get me one of these as soon as they hit Europe.
