The fact that there's not one supermodel playing a brain surgeon or chief of police by itself puts this show in an elite class.

One thing I'm amazed by with the show is how they made Mareille Enos look almost undoable even though she's actually pretty hot. I saw her in a commercial talking about other AMC shows when this was still new and was like "Wow, who the hell does she play in The Killing?? Oh crap, it's the girl detective!"

As soured as I feel about it all I still plan to watch the show next year, but if there wasn't a 2nd season and it ended how it did last Sunday... pitchfolks and fires!

She is/was also in Big Love, or one of those polygamy shows, right?

The pics from make her look even more un-doable. But I have seen her elsewhere. rather hot...

It was me, actually, who made that very obvious point, zinfamous didn't so much agree and even admitted he hadn't thought of it

Yeah, I totally ignored that fact. I think it's a glaring error, ...but I feel that it is a detail that will remain relatively insignificant to the characters in the show, or simply be written off as a fact that he was wet--and not from rain--that we, as the gullible audience, will have to accept. :\

she did ask what the GF meant by "wet," she said, "you know, like he had been swimming." something like that.

I want to assume that what's-her-face was trying to rule out the obvious--rain. I mean, people do walk around with jackets and umbrellas and such, allowing oneself to remain relatively dry once the rain gear is removed. It is possible to differentiate the two types of wetness.

still--it's an idiotic assumption that we may be asked to accept, simply b/c the absurd amount of rain forced down our throats throughout the season is impossible to ignore.

Good show, was only meant to be 1 season but got renewed and then left us with a cliff hanger ending

The scene were she discovered the emails and him confronting her was pretty intense, this show is awesome! I wish they would bring Rubicon back

I mostly like this show, but I am somewhat disappoint with how they make such an overt effort to convince you that THIS GUY is the killer (this week), only to do a total redirect the next week and make it look like THIS OTHER GUY is DEFINITELY the killer, etc, etc, etc.

It makes for somewhat uninvolved viewing, IMHO.

yeah, those first five minutes of the final show were great. That one moment where she's trying to walk by him to get out of that room--effing chilling.

the shot reminded me of the classic low angle shot of Norman Bates in the original Psycho (eh, the only Psycho that matters).

Season two starting up in a couple weeks.

I just watched the first season, crammed the last two days. THAT was the ending people were so pissed about? Jeez...

Still too hyped about Mad Men coming back in 1 week, once that gets here maybe I'll be more excited for this.

The ending in and of itself didn't bother me, but they made it like that without even knowing if the show would get another season, in which case it would be the ultimate "fuck you" cliffhanger.

So how did you like the finale?

I think it was a really good show, not just a copy of the original.

That finale was awesome. I may have overlooked something over the past two seasons but was not expecting that person to be the killer. At first I just wanted the story to be tied up, the season to be over, and probably the show to end (since I expected the ending to disappoint). Now I want a season 3!

I liked the finale and series as a whole, but i wish they would rap up the Mr. Aimes and the Indian Chick going to jail or something. Instead Darren is all buddy buddy with them at the end. Maybe showing his true character as the killer had said.

Which is weird, because he doesn't have as much to gain from them now. Maybe he has to work with them because of their positions, but the tone made it seem like he's now a crooked insider.

Also, the 'happy ending' for the Larsen clan is pretty hollow, Stan should be going to jail for assault & battery.

I think I'll skip a season 3 if there is one.

Stan is scheduled to go to jail.

I kind of think maybe both of you are missing what I think is the series' concluding point, especially regarding Darren. There's not one unblemished good guy in the whole lot, and nobody is really getting any happy ending at all.

It's misery and malfeasance all around in non-sunny Seattle.

Darren: Despite sometimes trying to do the right thing, Darren is exactly like his crazy and murderous aide said he was before just before Holder shot him -- a political opportunist at heart. He's cozying up with Ames and the Indian woman for precisely the reason his aide said he should: To secure the funding for his next political race. And, he may have won the mayor's race, but he's never going to walk again and his wife, who was dead before the series began, still is.

Stan: Stan is going to jail, and for quite some time, for beating up that teacher. He may have loved his sons, but he wasn't above smacking them around and saying some horrible things to them at times. Plus, he's a past murder. Sure, they have that house, but his (step?) daughter is dead, his kids traumatized, he's going to jail, and who thinks his flake wife won't just take off again?

Linden: She loves her son, but repeatedly left him in dangerous situations. He's now in Chicago, and likely not coming back. Her impending marriage is dead in the water. And she has to live with the fact that she was point in a bumbling murder investigation that resulted in one innocent guy being put in a wheelchair while another innocent guy got beaten within an inch of his life.

Holder: Got the living shit kicked out of him by the tribal police and could still regress into his hard drug addiction at any point. Plus, the unmarked car assigned to him is a 15-20 year old mid-life Chrysler missing at least one hubcap. How sad is that?

I could do down through each character here, but I think you get the point.

No joy in Rainville, and there never was going to be.

I really loved this show. Atmospheric to the max.

show was well done. kudos to everyone involved.

but to have a character whose main characteristic (and professional skill) is "lying" (the spin doctor for the electoral campaign), and who has already characterised as a spinner and someone who is quick of mind, to go all emotional and confess everything to his boss (LOL) is ridiculous and blatant character assassination, especially when it could have easily been one of the thugs from the casino to "silence" her. The whole "i did it for you" thing was ludicrous.
