PC Gaming Show will start in few hours. No one really knows what to expect from AMD this time, but since Radeon RX 480 was already showcased, we expect to hear more about Radeon RX 470, which is also based on Polaris 10.

I really hope AMD teases an RX 480 CF build. I Know XFX hinted at it, it would be VERY nice if AMD partnered with them and showed that vs the GTX 1070 in crossfire enabled games.

For those of us who don't mind waiting, crossfire is an amazing boon and I'd like to see AMD promote that RX 480 CF single card build if it's actually good.

Also, for the love of god.

I would bet on the 470 being ~380x or maybe even less.

Positioning it with 390 performance at 100-150$ would put it too close to the 480 IMO, unless the 480 really is >390x.

That's Polaris 11, the 470 is Polaris 10.

I would expect more like 80% of 480 performance at 70-75% of the price. That would make it somewhere in between R9 380X and R9 390 for ~$150.

I'm attempting to hold off on 4K til high refreshrates are possible on large screens because I feel like I'm missing a lot being stuck at 60Hz.

So I'd be using the RX 480 to gain access to 4K VSR, since I'm locked out of 4K VSR arbitrarily from owning an R9 290.

Hence the reason I don't have R9 290 crossfire. RX 480 crossfire though looks like it's worth the wait because the one thing ab out the R9 290 is it heats a room when at full load for extending period like no other.

RX 480 vs R9 290 AMD, make it happen.

The other alternative that's potentially interesting is to cut as far down as 28 CUs and adjust the clocks to the point where it can run off of the bus without extra power connectors. AMD might do something like that anyways for an OEM part, but it could also make for a great little HTPC card.

Since when was the 480 $150 for the 4GB? It's $200 for the 4GB and 230 for the 8GB?

I meant that the 470 should be 30 or 32 CUs and 4 GB of memory for $150.

Another thought is that the 470 is a salvage part for chips with defects in the memory controller so we might only see a 192-bit bus and 3|6 GB memory options.

I'm actually more intrigued to get some performance information about Zen than anything else about Polaris. I'll definitely have to tune in now.

Hopefully it's not 95% filler for 5% content like AMD's March event.

5% content is being generous! As much as I want AMD to be a competitor and keep nVidia and Intel honest, they really baffled me with that last presentation.

Show us some early benches of Zen, I don't care if they have to put it under liquid nitrogen!

Show the range topping Polaris card, the absolute best they are going to have until Vega drops, and show us a suite of benchmarks with power consumption.
