AMD 1.1ghz and AMD 1.4ghz, Big difference?

Is there a big difference between an AMD 1.1ghz and an AMD 1.4ghz in gaming?

I have an 1.1ghz but could have for 60$ more an 1.4ghz.
Is it profitably? I mean do you have lot of more frames?

256 DDR

300mhz will give a small boost but can't say it will be that noticable in most apps. Imagine back in 98 if someone had said, Pentium I 100mhz or PII 400mhz? much difference?, now there would have been a big performence gap but no so much with these Athlons.

300mhz IS 300mhz...of course there will be a difference...but only in purely cpu intensive tasks like flask. you asked about gaming, and in that case there will be no real difference. the 1.1ghz cpu is more than enough to max out the geforce2 pro you have (or any video card out today) so a faster cpu will not help in gaming.

Going from 1.1GHz to 1.4GHz is a ~27% increase, so with a PI 100MHz it would be like upgrading to a 127MHz (I might be wrong).

the bottleneck will still the video card. doubt you'll see any difference at all.

With all these doubters then, I really smile at OCers. They always try to make up crap about OC'ing. If everyone says "not worth it" why do people OC? Do they really not have $50-60 in their pocket? Somebody is wrong, OCers - or you guys.

Also PCs tend to curve smoothly, not step curves. "oh it's 1.4 gz over 900mhz, we will see a big difference!" But not if you were upgrading from 1.0gz. You will see a difference just nothing huge...

you wont see a difference between 1.1 and 1.4. Unless...you like to benchmark you systems Or, for that matter, if you want bragging rights...the 1.4 is the way to go

If you want the 1.4, but don't really want to spend the $$, overclock that 1.1...you oughta be able to reach somewhere around 1.3-1.4 w/o too much hassle.

If you feel you need a faster system for gaming then go with a faster video card since this will give you more FPS then any CPU upgrade.

Are you talking about the 1.1 GHz T-bird with a 200 MHz FSB or are you talking about a 1.13 GHz T-bird with a 266 MHz FSB? I think there would be a marked difference between the 1.1 GHz and the 1.4 GHz just due to the change in FSB speeds. Just my opinion though...
