AMD 2x Crossfire motherboards?

Hello,

I'm new to the whole SLI/Crossfire world. I see a lot of AMD systems mentioning SLI - but I haven't seen much on crossfire. Are there any AMD x2 that support crossfire?

Which out of those is best money no object and then money being an object?

are you planning on using crossfire? a lot of people would recommend that if you aren't (even though you are getting ATI card i assume) to get a normal board or even an SLI board simply because they best mobos out right now are SLI boards.

I'm still considering SLI but I'd love to get a dual pair of 1900's with dual GPU on each!
- actually I figured I get just one dual GPU 1900 (If I can find such a beast) and then adding a second a year from now.

I am curious about NCQ controllers - is SATA2 automatically have that featur? or is that something else.

ABit AT8 is available on the 6th. ULI 1575 SB chip supports NCQ.
I'll wait until then and grab one.

Wait for the newer southbridges from ATi come out. More features for about the same price.

Abit & a few others already went with the ULi southbridge which is better than the current ATi one.

But ATi is making a new 1, the R580 instead of the old 1, the R480. R580 has more USB ports, SATA 2, NCQ, native firewire support, better Crossfire. And ULi got bought out by nVidia, so there wont be anymore great southbridges from ULi for ATi boards. Better to wait for this southbridge. Comes out sometime in Feburary.

R580 isn't the southbridge. The current ATi southbridge is SB450 & it's replacement is SB600, last I heard SB600 was probably going to ship after R580.

nVidia have also said that they aren't going to stop supplying current southbridges (which already have USB2, NCQ etc.) to people like Abit for use on ATi chipset boards.
