Ok so I have the money for either one...I have been reading about the 3000 ocing to 2.6, which is the same as the 3500 wil do. So my question is..is the 3500+ the exact same thing as the 3000 or is it better. Whats the point in buying the 3500 if its the same as the 3000 oced. Will i see more performance with the 3500+? And also i dont kno shiet about ocing if someone could help explain all this i would appreciate it.

At the same clock speed they're identical. People who don't overclock may get the 3500 but other who want to save the cash and overclock will get the 3000 and overclock.

Simply put, you just need to raise the bus speed in order to overclock the CPU. This is done via the system BIOS.

is it hard to learn how to oc i think i understand the concept...but i dont wanna jack up my nice system either. Will the 3500+ ever be capable of running at higher clock speeds than 2.6 in the future after bugs are worked out and bios are updated so on and so forth

There is no dfi 939 board yet. And there certainly doesn't look to be one in the near future.
Bios updates don't improve cpus overclockability.

If they both hit the same clock speed (let's say 2.6GHz), then the 3000+ will be faster since it will be using a higher FSB.

For general purpose use, you won't notice a difference. However, you may miss the pistol round in CS with the slower cpu

I think the safe bet for you would be the 3500+. It's fast at default and even faster when overclocked.

The 3500+ won't hit higher than 2.6GHz with extra voltage? It was given 1.4V in the review only...

who knows but im sure even 2.4 would be fine for me...I wanna play doom3, Quake 4, and hl2. This system should do that nicely.

If you look at the OC review the 3500+ made it to 290 FSB at stock voltage, while the 3000+ had to do a 8.3% voltage increase to get there. This mean you have more voltage headroom with the 3500+ and you are able to raise the FSB along with the voltage (this is a memory and heat limited operation though). The 3000+ can't OC much further past 290 FSB without reaching dangerous voltages, unless you get a good cooling system.

Say the 3000+ is hitting 300 FSB @ 1.65-1.7V...while @ 1.65-1.7V the 3500+, if the memory timings etc allow, will be @ 340-365 FSB (the numbers are not calculated to be exact, they're just an example). This is the reason the 3500+ is a better choice to OC with and it's a better choice to use if you are going to use it as is.

Do you guys know anything about OC'ing???

Just because AT stopped at 290 FSB with the 3500+ does not means it's the max FSB OC for it, neither does that mean it's the max FSB for the 3000+. The point is, which chip got there with the least voltage increase/heat increase, and that would be the 3500+. That means less voltage to make to 290 FSB = good, you are less likely to fry you chip when/if you try to hit a higher FSB then that.

Actually, you should be fine for the pistol round... I was using an Athlon XP 1800+ with my 6800GT and was always one of the first into every new map...
