AMD 3500+ Winchester or Newcastle?

I'm deciding between the Winchester and the NewCastle. I plan on keeping my cpu at stock speeds.

Which would you get, I don't mind the $20-$30 difference, I'm also waiting out for the nForce4 mobos (i.e. MSI) so I'm not in the biggest rush obviously.

What are the advantages of each processor?

winchester will probably run cooler and OC higher. havent tried yet myself though.

If you don't care about the price difference, go Winchester. Slightly better, but the 3500+ Win is WAAAY overpriced.

Winchester, as long as you can find it for a decent price.
I got mine for around $275 before the prices went back up.

I been watching the price jump around but I pulled the trigger over at ZZF for $294, it's $35 cheaper than newegg. This afternoon ZZF was asking $315 for, I figured I better jump on it while it is $294 before it shoots back up.

I been watching the prices on it several times a day - everyday for the past 3+ weeks.

It's the cheapest the ADA3500BIBOX has been in a month or so. The cheapest I ever seen it was $282 at newegg in the beginning of December, but I figured it's still a little ways off until it hits that price again.

But not everyone wants to overclock their hardware.. voids warranty BTW.

But if you have a 3000+ A64, and had the nerve to tell me it was better than my 3.46ghz P4 EE, you got alotta nerve kid..

Since I canceled that order, I'm getting a 3500+ or faster myself.. so quit pooping.. some of us have money.

Chill, theres no need for that, he was offering an cheaper alternative, it does not make you cheaop or any of the other members of this forum that have done the same. Would you call Zebo cheap ? Duive ? They have all done the same & I plan too as well.

I went with the newcastle myself. a 3500+ the winchester benefits did not justify the cost at all.

Housecat's right, its annoying when someone asks about a certain part and there's ALWAYS someone to say "WHY BUY THAT OMG SAVE 100$ AND OVERCLOCK!!!". I honestly dont mind suggestions but dont try to FORCE the person asking to change their mind. Like housecat said maybe they have money and want the better performance. Maybe they don't want to overclock and just want to put together a new performance system. Suggestions are always great but again keep the attitude away from these forums. Clarkey no reason for you to say "Some of us have brains." Buying a cheaper system to overclock has nothing to do with "brains." That just seemed like a rude insult that may have dispersed from you not liking the fact of what others could afford. Thats not cool. If thats not the case, sry and i'll keep my mouth shut
