Hi, my AMD 64 3500+ is 51 degrees celcius according to my bios on start up, is this normal or higher than normal for this particular processor, does anyone know?

I have 1 case fan and 2 inside the PSU (not even sure if they affect the rest of the case).

Help please.

depends on what heatsink you are using. If that is a stock heatsink I'd say you have some pretty good temps. If it was a high end heatsink, then i'd say it is a bit on the warm side, but nothing to worry about to much. What is the tempurature on full load?

Not sure about full load as windows isn't installed yet. oh and yes, it's the stock heatsink, will the temp. affect the performance?

No, but it can affect stability if it is too high (which it is not).

I get about 34C on startup with my Zalman 7000A AlCu and 3 intake, 2 exhaust, 1 exhaust on psu.

Adn4n - Just to clarify....You get 34C using the AMD 64 3500+ with that heat sink fan combo???

hmmm i didn't expect to have to buy a 3rd party heatsink and fan, i just assumed amd would provide good enough components with their own processors!?

I'll keep monitoring it over the days when i get thing running with windows. I'll let you guys know if anything changes. Thanks by the way.

they do. you think they'd stand for their processors crashing left and right?

people use 3rd party for oem and for oc.. or to quiet down a pc

I don't see the point about worrying over a moderately hot CPU, unless the temps are absurd or if you are having stability issues.

The temp is perfectly fine. Start worrying when the load temp gets over 70C. Most people here are pretty conservative with temps, but the temp you have isn't any higher than the temps in pre-built PCs and I haven't heard of any CPUs in pre-built PCs dying without Overclocking. As long as you are not Overclocking and the noise doesn't annoy keep the OEM hsf.
