As mentioned prior in this thread (and now reiterated again), you may want to make use of Anandtech's Price Engine RSS feed, which already does what this thread is attempting to accomplish in real time - in other words, it is constantly updated.Originally posted by: Dragonbate
Bump for any updates?
As far as I can see none of the contact information for the 2 sites is the same. That makes me wonder if Newegg = ChiefValue is really true?So if Newegg is gonna lose a customer because their price is too high then they might as well lose that customer to themselves (ChiefValue).

More information available here.
You may want to more closely reexamine the RSS feed through an appropriate reader. All the above contentions are incorrect save the OEM and Retail options. All the vendors discussed in thread save ChiefValue are included, and all prices include shipping (if a fixed cost). From the aforementioned thread, the included vendors are currently:Originally posted by: Dragonbate
That RSS is of limited use and seems to be in beta. It does't take into account vendors, shipping or oem vs retail.
You may want to reiterate the OEM and Retail issue in that thread. One user mentioned it already, but the more that do, the more likely the staff will consider the option.allstarshop

You might as well wait for the prices to come down a little more before buying one. Or wait for the next version of the A64.

Also, more than one vendor is listed for each component; in your specific case, appears at least four vendors are listed for the 3200+ Socket 939 (including ZZF). You may want to make use of an RSS application that offers filtering. Use of a filter rather easily dissects the data when searching for a single component.
And yes, the RSS Price Engine is still in beta, as the thread indicates. For those more comfortiable with a non-RSS based price engine, Anandtech offers this alternative as well.
Actually, you can in the RSS engine (although misspelling Winchester makes little difference in this case).Originally posted by: intogamer
teh can't filter out the winchestor cores!!!!

Believe he/she is referring to the retail version. Of course, it is difficult to know as he/she does not specify such.Originally posted by: brewzer420Monarch has the OEM 3200+ for $179Originally posted by: Dragonbate

Many thanks for the humorous interlude prior to calling it an evening. Sadly, no, I am not pining away in an effort to construct ways of defeating this or any thread, nor do I despise open conversation in any form. If any of that were true, why on earth would I be a part of this community to begin with? On the contrary, anyone that frequents Hot Deals (or any of the other segments of this forum, for that matter) enough to have developed any sort of reasonable opinion would know that quite the opposite is true.Originally posted by: woodscomp
Lets keep this post alive, it is just eating ActuaryTm alive that we want to talk to each other about this stuff rather than use an engine for pricing and hot deals.

I do hate to see such raw inefficiency, however. Seeing effort and man (or boy, as the case may be) hours used to produce anything already readily available is something I do indeed appall. When speaking of a product similar to this component (say, processors in general), unless one or two vendors are offering a significant discount, an equilibrium price will exist across the majority of competitors. Just the nature of a free market economy with an item(s) such as this. If such is the case, by all means do post those special discounts at those select vendors - that is a Hot Deal. Confirming essential price eliquibriums is not, and attempting to recreate the wheel with this thread is regrettably grossly mispent time.
Hopefully that clears up any misconceptions and misunderstandings.
