Previews:
Here's a preview (using slightly older 8.79 drivers as opposed to 8.851 drivers):
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18217817
Another preview:
http://www.coolpc.com.tw/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=276669#p276669

Prices:
Some UK prices for 6950s and 6970s:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/produc...=56&subid=1752
compared to GTX580s:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/produc...=56&subid=1812
and GTX570s:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/produc...=56&subid=1010

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...n=6970&x=0&y=0
So it seems 6970 pricing is more on par with the GTX570.

Might as well make it a sticky now.

That could just be trying to get people to buy the cards.

^True, but I think Gibbo has a good reputation in that community doesn't he? I doubt he would lie to try and sell more cards in the short term.

Yea he has a pretty good reputation. Crossfire looks awesome and if the same can be applied to Antilles, it will be beast no doubt about it.

Performance - The 6950 is the star performer, it clocks well enough to get it past 6970 stock performance and a pair of these in Crossfire cost similar to a GTX 580, yet you get quite a lot more performance and hardly any extra power requirements.

It sucks that he only used synthetic tests, since from what we have seen the 6900 series does pretty bad in those compared to actual games

But still, the 6950 costs half the price of a 580 lol, wow

So the cheapest GTX 580 over there is almost $700 when converted to USD? After VAT and all that...

Woah, HD6970's are available and in stock on the website now, and not all that expensive.
I'm slightly kicking myself for getting an HD6850 now I see these 6950 prices, only 50% and a tiny bit higher, which would be roughly $300 I'd guess.

I am surprised AMD was able to keep the cayman numbers under wraps like they did.

If that review is real, NV is in serious trouble.

59.1 for a stock gtx580 vs. 52.2 for a stock hd6970 and 49.0 for an hd6950 at the same settings in Unigine? I don't think Nvidia is in trouble; it more or less looks like customers are going to have lots and lots of price points in which they can choose from to purchase a graphics cards.

Am I overlooking some numbers or something? The 580 seems to be just as fast as the 6970?

Crossfire scaling is very good. nVidia will hurt more in that they have a huge die to compete with AMD's smaller die when it comes to a price war. But will have to wait for a full review to see what the real die size is for cayman I guess.

The word is that we should wait for reviews that use the 10.12 drivers, since they are supposed to make a significant performance difference with the 69xx series.

None of those are done by real reviewers... NONE of those are with the right drivers <.<'

I wanna see a real review done right, not random dude with card at a shop that benchs it with wrong drivers.

Being just as fast is fine.
Except the HD6970 is the same price as the GTX570, so having the GTX580 be as fast would be bad, since it's an extra $150...

From Overclockers uk.

GTX580-------£365
HD6970-------£238

Both before taxes.

Obviously the GTX can come down but the 6970 is way cheaper.

OH what do i see? 7Gbps rated GDDR5 modules!! I can't believe they only run them at 5 and 5.5. Theres going to be a heap of OC room unless they stuffed up their memory controller.

Expecting 6870 and 6850 to get some price drops. At their current pricing, they offer no value over existing cards. I can get a 5870 and gtx470 for cheaper than 6870, that's just wrong.
