I just purchased a 6800K combo with a Thermaltake Performer WATER2.0 closed loop system. BTW don't buy this water cooling if you plan to OC the chip at all. I also have it paired with a 6670 if anybody wants me to run some tests. I'm using 8 GB G.SKill @ 2133MHz (11-12-11-31 2T).

Care to say why ??

It's not really meant for OC'ing, at least not the hotter AMD CPU's I imagine. Keep in mind this chip runs 4.1-4.4GHZ under load. Not sure about the Intel chips though. The PRO is the step up that is much better equipped, I think the PRO has a 40mm thick radiator vs. the Performer's 25mm. I do like the dual PWM fans as it does run really quiet. Only problem is max is 2000 rpm's on those. Live and learn I guess.

PS: Intelburntest was showing up to 80C running the standard test. HWmonitor was showing wild temp fluctuations (around 40c idle) so I don't think it was reading it right but the burn in test definately showed throttling. Funny cuz the Biostart Hi-FI mobo showed idle at 27C consistently in the bios???? had the mobo set to shut down at 75C cpu temp so not sure which is correct...

the 6670 is DDR3 or GDDR5?

since everyone is using luxmark perhaps it would be interesting to see 6670 vs IGP!?

that explains the choice of parts,

I had the impression he payed for the hardware considering this reply

I really wondered why he was buying AMD RAM. Now we know he didn't buy it.

But you are correct, how could 2133 be "too expensive" when this kit was free? Although I suppose paying anything for the 2133 would make it "too expensive" when 1866 is free.

Would it have killed you to mention this is a kit shipped by AMD as part of their Test Drive program? Assuming that is what it is

Nice catch Vesku. OP purposefully implied that he bought this system.

Default with Turbo enabled. Most of the time it was at 4.2GHz in the benchmark but it was fluctuating quite a bit as I had the power features enabled as well. Everything set to normal in the bios. That was having the water cooling fans in quiet mode set in the bios. When I set the fans to full performance (rather loud 1980-2000 rpm) just to test in Intelburntest it went up to the lower 70C's right away the first couple of benchmark runs. Like I said it seems that particular water cooling can't handle that hot of a chip, maybe its better with the Intel chips, dunno...still a good unit though. I can't imagine you will ever hit those temps using the PC normally. I did run Unigines Valley benchmark as well and the fans didn't ramp up much...I wish I had a good temp monitoring program that measures the 6800K temps correctly though....blahhh

Yeah, I find that kind of annoying. My asking that question was the perfect time for him to say that it was a test kit provided by AMD. Very weird.

Anyways, surprised AMD themselves didn't ship the kits with 2133; you'd think they'd want to put the 6800K in the best light possible.

Sorry guys didn't think it was that important

low blow bro, he was only benchmarking the system, not selling it to your mother!

There are a number of potential "conflicts of interest", here. A big one which springs to mind is that they may be specially binned, exceptionally good at overclocking chips, which would ruin the benchmarks "objectivity", if people wanted to use the benchmarks to give them help on making buying decisions.

I don't know if "overclocking" was included, as some of the post(s), seem to have been retrospectively altered.

It's best to make it clear, if there is any information which would make people reading it be very wary of the results.

E.g. I'm completely trustworthy, my prison warden is happy to provide references. My Nigerian relative (who is King there) will be delighted to receive all payments. My website is total.suckers.rip.off.com@onlyJoking.ANANDForum

assuming all this is true then everyone who receives kit from a vendor for review is a shill, including anand...

I'm not...I had to pay real freaking money for my stuff. :-(

Although it did help that I could sell the free 8Gb stick of memory and the SimCity coupon (yeah I know) to hep alleviate the cost!

That's not comparable to this. Review sites like Anandtech commonly receive hardware for reviews so it's expected. Random forum posters are usually sharing results from a product that they purchased themselves and when they do get something sent to them they usually make that fact crystal clear in the first sentence of their review/results.

He said faster ram was too expensive which means he was trying to make readers believe he actually purchased the system himself. This is the behavior of a shill.

I'm trying to say that it would have been better, if the situation was made clear, right at the beginning.

As regards calling the OP a "Shill", I would not do that because I do not know the full details.
It seems perfectly possible, that it is just a lack of experience or innocent mistake, from the OP, and absolutely no harm was intended.

One does not necessarily absolutely HAVE TO disclose everything, but it would be better if one, did.

E.g. Someone might work for Intel, but want to keep that fact secret, so that they don't get a constant stream of PM's, complaining about Intel, asking Intel related questions, etc etc.
But in that case, they should be careful what they say, so that it does not come to bite them or Intel, later.
