I got mine running at 2100 XP speed by unlocking the multiplier and upping the voltage just a tad. Good deal, but don't expect a big performance boost if you are already above 1 GHz.

just got one, was going to wait till the xp2000+ drop in price (it's standing @ around $73 @ pricewatch), but with still a $20 difference, I guess I wouldn't mind unlocking it and make it XP2000+.

Since i have a board with no multiplier and volt adjustments, I am going to hard mod it to a 12.5x multiplier. But I am not sure if I should mod the +0.1v also? I would rather keep it @ stock voltage but is worried if the XP1600+ agoia can handle XP2000+ speed @ stock voltage.

anyways, this is a good deal, after monitor the up and down prices (at least on newegg) of these XP1600, I doubt they can drop anymore. Thanks Corinthos.

man, just saw another thread talking about this exact CPU being $50 shipped at nutrend (agoia core also).

arrr... oh well, can't cancel my order anymore, I guess $2 isn't much for a more reliable seller. (However, even though newegg has a better reselleratings and I have bought tons of stuff from them before with no prob, I think Nutrend and Newegg are affiliated (from the same specials that they run and the same shopping cart system) and therefore should be just as reliable)

the advantage of getting a tbred would be that it is unlocked for certain multipliers on specific boards.
so u wouldnt have to modify the thing for overclocking purposes.

even tho its unlocked... the first gen of tbreds do not overclock very well.

Well I got in on this deal.... I am going to show my lack of analyzing which I normally do...what I want to know is what makes this deal hot? the price or the processor... in other words I have 1700 (AXIA or something)I put in this computer almost a year ago so what is it with this agoia core???? I am building a computer based on rebates special deals and what I think are deals but again what is the deal here??? sorry I know this is kinda off topic.

The deal is that these chips will often do at least a 166fsb overclock on a lot of boards with little or no overvoltage, i.e. XP2100-XP2200 for $50, can't be beat.

P.S. Just bought mine from nutrend for $49 shipped.

Thanks pcmax. Saved 2 whole bucks at nutrend and thier resellerratings are pretty high. I actually don't need it since I have 4 p4 rigs but would be nice to upgrade my 1ghz t-bird.

1. i think the k7s5a needs a volt. mod to get the 1600+ up to ~1.8ghz, but i'm not sure.
2. none of the 1600+'s come unlocked. the AGOIA core (probably week 0213 stepping) are just awesome overclockers because most are re-packaged 2000+'s.
