The ABIT board will overclock like a dream. The ECS can do a modest overclock with a hacked bios Hacked BIOS
The ECS is a little tempermental to your power supply. Make sure you have a halfway decent one.
The ABIT requires DDR memory, the ECS can run SDR or DDR, making it cheaper if you have some SDR you want to move to the new machine.
The ECS also has built in NIC and sound, saving a few more pennies.
The ABIT has a built in RAID controller, in case you want to run multiple hard drives....
I run two machines of each, and have no complaints on any of them.
BTW, if you get the ECS, make sure you get the updated manual from their website. The diagram showing the connections (power, speaker, HD LED, reset, etc) is WRONG. If you follow it, you may think you have a dead motherboard, 'cause nothing will work!
