Just stumbled accross this. Is this a hot deal for someone like me, who is holding on to 939? I have mine OC'd to 2500mhz with a 250FSB and 10HT. Can I just drop this cpu in and what would the overclock be?

Good price but Tiger Direct's "warranty" scares the hell out of me:

just picked up an opteron 165 dual core, running nicely at 300*9/ 2700mhz. 900mhz overclock on 1.4 volts. $153 when I bought it last week, no rebate at Newegg.

Have you noticed that they dropped the price on the 4400 to $169. However, they also changed the Item No. by adding IM to the end of it - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications...m-details.asp?EdpNo=2812338&CatId=1947

So do you think they will now disqualify the rebate. It is still the exact same item, with the same Item #, just with the additional suffix. I really want to get this if the rebate would still be valid.

My two Tiger cpu rebates from July 2006 are still unpaid. The rebates were "approved" six months ago. Last month a customer service rep at OnRebate promised to pass along my rebate information to their accounting department. I was too polite. No checks have shown up as yet. Kicking and screaming might work better.

OnRebate has done ok sending out other peoples money (PNY and Ultra rebates), but Tiger rebates have moved beyond slow and are approaching scam.

Did you contact the BBB? It takes 10 minutes to file an online report and usually clears things up quickly.

AMD will continue to drop prices until the 939 procs dry up, but who knows when the next drop will be and how many they have. I'm just waiting for a < $100 939 dual core combo from frys etc.

Well my order has been processed and is ready for shipping. I can't believe this worked out, as I usually find these hot deals out too late. This could be most excellent. The AMD 64 X2 4400 for $169-$50 rebate - $15 paypal - $15 coupon = $89. And I just picked up the Arctic pro 64 cooler for $20 at the eWiz.
