So I send away my $80 expecting to get $20 back - what do you think my chances are? Is Tiger Direct REALLY that bad with rebates?<a href="http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?sku=cp2-xp2100tbc&SRCCODE=WEM461C">

You'd do better sending your money off to saddam, and hoping he'd pay you back with interest before you'll get a rebate back from tigerdirect..

id keep away from this like ... well... i would just steer clear of something this cheap from Tiger... (or anything from tiger for that matter)

go with newegg... u know ur getting something good from there...

my 2100+ tbred B i got from them overclocks from 13 * 133 = 1729mhz to 12.5 * 169 = 2113mhz @ default voltage... once my 80mm H1A gets here this week sometime im gonna start upping the voltages...

stay away from tigerdirect. If you get a defect item from them, they won't even accept returns. I had to struggle with my credit company to get a refund on a defective item which i recieved from tigerdirect.

Just send your money to me. Either way, you won't get it back!

Tiger Direct has been proven to be an unethical company; they also will sell your private information and credit card information at the drop of a hat Recommend that you try Newegg or one of the other reputable companies that Anand forum folks have success with all the time.

Googlegear has it for $78 shipped. It's no $60, but damned cheap for such a good proc.

Tigerdirect strikes again!

Seems they increased their warranty restrictions since my last purchase.
Last CPU I bought from them had a 7 day DOA warranty.
Now, they state:

"VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING OUR RETURN POLICY ON CPU'S:
Please note that all processors may be returned only for defective exchange.
You must purchase a compatible heatsink on the same order as the processor
in order to preserve your "warranty" or exchange privilege. "

So now if you don't buy a HSF from them at the same time, you get NO WARRANTY!

It's nice to see everyone finally views Tiger the same way.
Now the next step would be to make Tiger Direct a banned word here.

I get these e-mail ads from them addressed to my real name. I have no idea how they got it. When I signed up with hotmail I didn't give my real name.

Holy crap, that is hilarious! It seems that Tiger Direct is constantly adding small print to every purchase now... jeeze.

I've never purchased from them and I never will. I'd rather spend 25% more than get anything there!

the mail address is on the PDF form...

as far as buying from Tiger and returning...I had no problem doing so with a defect DVD-rom drive. I even got the rebate back on the drive approximately 2.5 months after submitting.

While I don't like their warranty policy about CPU's, I wonder how many of you who responded, actually bought something and had a bad experience with Tiger...or was it all heresey.

Bought a CPU cheap, and it was fine, so I jumped on the Tiger bandwagon.
But.................. after 2 rebates getting rejected, they can eat scum.
Out of 100's of rebates sent to others, never had one rejected. Only Tiger's.

Next bad experience was security based.
Went to place an order, and some guy in Texas has his info listed for my login.
After several weeks of trying to get Tiger to correct, with emails going to everyone their, I gave up.
Very non-secure at times, and they could not care less.

:light: Dhooo - Yeah yeah "heresey"...
You buy now. Tiger Direct good. They all jealous. All heresey. Yeah, Yeah. :Q

Do a search. Post after post of people thinking "well maybe it won't happen to me..." Then it does.

Back in the day there used to be almost half the people in a thread doubting the bad word about TD.
Now you're about the only one doubting in this thread. Doesn't that tell you anything in itself?

Hmm makes you wonder how this company can be in busy still?

Actually I'm curious to see what kind of profits they make.

Should we start the rants here, or start a thread in off topic? I have some incredibly insulting emails from Tiger's "helpful" customer service staff.

Are you kidding?? What would people who used to defend Tiger Direct say before that smoking gun...

There were Tiger Direct employees posting their phone numbers and emails challenging people to come to them if anything bad happened with their shopping "experience"...

Post those emails now.

Be very careful with this rebate. When TD first posted it they didn't have the address to send the rebate to and they had a phone number to contact (305 AC). They have updated the form and now it has an address but it's a street address and appears to be located in or near a mall in Miami, FL. I have never seen this address for a rebate before. I think they may be trying to handle their own rebates. The rebates appear to be paid by TD instead of the manufacturer. This is a very bad sign. There is no phone number now. If you want to contact them about the rebate you have to email TD.

I think they are still in business because they cater to the newbie PC do-it-yourselfers. TD was one of the first places I ordered from when I decided to jump into building PCs several years ago. I still order from them but only if they have something that I really want and I can't find it anywhere else. I also read all of the fine print and I don't buy anything from them that has a rebate.

It was interesting last year when someone from TD came here to try and clean up their tarnished reputation. I haven't seen him around for a while. I guess he gave up. His efforts will never be successful until TD changes their fundamental business practices. TD runs its business using marketing hype and deception. I still get Carl's emails.

Think before you type... Go to betterbusiness Bureaue's website. Gop to resellerRatings website (after you find out Tiger Direct's other DBAs. I am truly surprised that Anand hasnt banned TD postings in some form or fashion afdter what happened earlier. (If you have to ask abnout this, please fo a search first.)
