Well, here is what i'm assuming is an "unknown" issue for you:

It doesn't work.

After install if i hit the options on BF4 it instantly crashes. Star Swarm also crashes if i try to start it with mantle.

Siege of Shanghai, HD 7970 i7 3770k @ 4GHz, I'm getting about 10-12 more FPS, though there's dips, but early days yet. Nice job.

7970 at clocks up to 1050 (Don't know what are your exact 7970 clocks) cause too little bottleneck on 3770k. For MP it seems that Mantle did a awesome job.


At this resolution and with a 3770k would be good see 2x R 290 results.

I also have a HD7850 with an i7 920 for my son's rig and its getting some weird stuttering with mantle enabled. The FPS seems to be slightly improved.

I'm testing it right now, not only you can set mesh quality to ultra without fear of sub 70 fps on a 8320 at stock, but also frametime variance is super smooth! Looks almost like a flat line.

PD: for some reason with mantle the renderdevice.renderaheadlimit goes back to 0, which causes loss of performance and stuttering, setting back to 3 or higher yields me the best results.

Load up BF4.. goto video.. No mantle api selection for me. Repair install game, reinstall 14.1... Same thing.

Battlelog said 290/x and 270... AMD says all GCN is supported.

In my reading around I saw that someone was having the same issue and they found that starting the game in x64 mode enabled the menu selection for Mantle.

yeah Mantle only works for 64 bit.

"Just so everyone is aware:

A few important workarounds for people attempting to use Mantle in BF4.

Disable your IGP in Device Manager, and set BF4 launch options to 64bit only.

If you leave the IGP on the game will crash when you access the Options menu, and Mantle will not show up at all if you don't select 64bit from the launch options."

Artifacts are back for me as well in Firefox, slightly different to before (they went away when I removed hardware acceleration previously).

after the first install of the new drivers 14.1 it works AMAZING i gain literally 50 fps in BF4.... then if i turn off my PC and come back and try to play the game ether works at half the FPS i use to get or not at all and just crashes

but if i reinstall the drivers it will work fine.... till the next time i turn off my PC

and yes i did a clean install every time and used driver display uninstaller in safe mode

i went hunting for that in device manager but couldn't find anything, under display adapters theres only the AMD radeon R9 200 series

i have a x58 MB i7 920 if anyone knows where to look plz let me know :|

1)this is just one subjective finding, so hopefully a reputable review site can affirm the image quality with mantle.

No need for that as it's just a levels issue. All the info and everything is rendered. A quick way to test this is opening the image in Photoshop/whatever and boosting the highlights.

I do not think any OSD software is compatable with mantle just yet.

Use the commands via BF4 console or make a user.cfg file.

render.drawscreeninfo 1

Use note pad make a txt file and save it as user.cfg so you do not have to type the cmds over when you load the game again.
