Nice going ! Made even more impressive by the fact that you also have a lot of machines on projects like Dpad and by the fact that your numbers aren't padded by the optimized client benchmarks and the high level of points they cause to be given at projects such as Rosetta.

This seems to be a wakeup call for me to quit lanquishing and get the hordes back on the march or for me to quit entirely.

I have left the hordes go to pasture these past months ... the Dringdahl "deal" with the missing prize and the ensuing lack of real support from this forum really took the wind out of my sails. Folks can get by with murder and there is no penalty or punishement. I thought Dringdahl should have been drawn and quartered, stripped of his leadership in any DC project ... and generally chastised. Who cares is the answer I found.

I learned a lot. Caveat Emptor ... and ... those who have not the power seem to think those of us who have power are overpriveleged and we should just absorb whatever losses comes along "because we can affort it" ... far from the truth. I'm still smarting.

I am contemplating withdrawing from DC as it seems this forum is truly dead or dying ... where is the team spirit and where is the banter?

There is little or no recognition for any of us with significant achievements and less for those that can't reach our lofty heights. What is the incentive for anyone? Suffer in silence? Seems no one as even noticed my declining stats and absence from the forum. Seems I won't really be missed. I guess everyone takes everyone else for granted.

Coupled with this are the major debacles in the BOINC projects ... Rosetta hangs and those folks can't find thier anus with a flashlight ... SETI servers are a constant source of embarrassment ... and SIMAP seems to continually run out of work ...

Perhaps it is time to retire until the projects get ducks in a row ...

Alternatively, perhaps, I need to get re-energized with a different forum that has some enthusiasm beyond basic spotty stats.

Alas, I have the resources to give amd.borg a real challenge but I no longer have the motivation ...

Hey Mondo!

Nice seeing you again. Well I've been keepin an eye on ur stats as the hordes can be pretty crunchy sometimes. I have also had problems, but it's gonna take more than that to make me stop dc. I say stay on and show me what you've got! I'm always on for a challange and if need be I'll put the other bunch of crunchers not doin boinc projects on it also and we can really start killen!

One of the main reasons I crunch is for the stats, ranks and achievement. So getting regognition for something like this really puts me up there to do even more!! Oh and something like the fact that I'm nr 1 in the TeAm in 8 projects and nr 2 in 5 projects and so on really makes me wanna go even further and getting recognition for this kinda stuff is what I like and one of the reasons why I crunch.

The forum is very active and maybe sometimes not as much as in passed times, but we're still here. Oh and you have been looked for like here: Where's Mondobyte been So man let go of the problems and lets get it on!! Get motivated and get crunching!

Oh what's pretty cool is this DCR stats page from Free-DC where you can check your standing for ALL dc projects against other members! It's pretty cool oh and you get a cool sig to like sooo. If anybody want to, just join the Free-DC forum, log in and go to your DCR stats config tool. I've written some instruction on how to do it here.

Btw what was you expecting could be done to Dringdahl? (I take it you still haven't heard from him?) ,what can we kick him from?
AFAIK you can't kick any member from any DC team (correct me if I'm wrong)

Unless my memory is failing me ,it seems you are applying the responses of a few to the whole team.

It is true the forums are quieter than they used to be ,but certainly not dead.
Myself I've been busy on & off for sometime ,RL getting in the way of forum chat
Though my recent stats threads did show you as a big gun in SETI ,we certainly noticed that.I've not been running them long enough to see any trends yet.
Unfortunatly the ISP of the stats site I use was damaged in a fire ,hence no stats from me lately (the site used by RD to create the stats is too long & convoluted for me to use)

I'm sorry your feeling this way about TA,I don't know how I can help you really ,any suggestions?

That's an interesting stats report, Mr. Borg.

Unfortunately, Free-DC doesn't track my main secondary project at all (Malaria@home) so it doesn't work quite as well for me as it might for most. It's still interesting to see the totals for the projects that the site does track, though.


Edit: I did try to register and set up my own stats since it's the only site I've found that would include my DIMES stats along with the BOINC stuff (minus Malaria) but the registration form requires typing a string of characters from a random image and I've typed exactly what is in the image a dozen times and every one of them says it doesn't match.

Oh well. I check Free-DC regularly anyway. I'll just have to keep looking at each project I want to see individually in order to satisfy my stats addiction.

Indeed Freewolf, Malaria Control is called on it's original name at Free-DC, Africa@Home.

Fardringle, if there's any project you'd like to see added to the Free-DC stats, just mail or pm Bok, he's a great guy and will gladly assist you! About the registration, have you tried on another pc and with ie or ff? If you still don't come right, let me know what username you'd like to use and I'll register for you and you can just change the password.

Thank you for pointing that out! I hadn't even bothered to look at that project in the stats since I had assumed that it was just old numbers from before the project became Malaria@home. Good stuff!

As for the registration page, I tried it on three computers with IE and one with Firefox all with the same results. I suspect his validation script isn't associating the correct code with the images.
