I ran an AHCI test on my last fresh installs using CrystalDiskMark 3.0 x64. Seems like a near even split for wins between the two. The results should be valid for a wide range of Cat versions since AMD hasn't updated their AHCI in over a year IIRC. Trim support is missing, but matters very little with the preformance so close between the MS and AMD drivers.
However, my 4650 and 5670 both experience the HDMI issue - sometimes there is no audio when returning from sleep.
