Still don't have an option to upgrade to Windows 10 yet. Kind of annoying since windows bugged me with the get windows 10 button all the time nonstop and now I don't have it...
7000 series still limited to 1440p vsr?

It should be in Windows Updated on Win7 and 8. Assuming you reserved it.

I did but maybe I'm not the first wave?
I checked windows update today before any did all of the updates in there just so I could be ready for 10. I'd reserved it a bit ago since Microsoft harassed me like no other. I wouldn't care except they literally harassed e nonstop and I hate windows 8.1 compared to 8(the search is slightly reworked in 8.1 which messes up how I was searching before).

I'm going to check now for lunch lol.

You don't have to wait for Win10 notification on your PC. You can use Microsoft's Media Creation Tool, to create a Win10 bootable DVD or USB, and then upgrade the Win7 or Win8 installation. Make sure that you select the right version of Win10 (Pro or Home), when creating the media. Then run the executable from within Windows.

I don't have the option yet either on my desktop or laptop. Not really in a rush to upgrade, but just letting you know you're not the only one.

There is no reason to reserve it, that means nothing. I never did and my machine is upgrading now.

I had to force mine to upgrade though. You have to enable the checkbox to allow updates for other microsoft products, and then run this command from an admin command prompt: wuauclt.exe/updatenow

Then launch windows updates and it should show that it is downloading Windows 10.

Hey Sam,

Does this by chance have a fix for the World of Tanks crash that was introduced in some of the more recent betas, and is also in 15.7? I reported it through the AMD support site. I am still running the Omega drivers as the crash does not exist there.

Thanks!

You can manually download Windows 10 from Microsoft here.

Ya I found out earlier. I upgraded. It's great. I like the new interface a lot better so far. The download maxed out my Internet and was great. So pretty much a flawless and super fast upgrade I mean props to Microsoft for getting it right so far.

Interested in seeing how everything else works and how cortana is.

Hello Stuka87,
To be honest with you I'm not sure whether it does or not. But I know that WoT is supported by our driver. With that said, try 15.7 (not 15.7.1) since it's the WHQL driver, which offers lots of improvements across multiple games.

I am running Windows 10 (Just switched from 8.1), so I tried out the 15.7.1.

It is a LOT more stable. Went from 3-4 crashes a night to just one in the last week. The 15.7 driver has the same crash issue as the older betas.

So far this one is looking much better.

How are you guy getting these crashes? I never get crashes

Game completely locks up. Required exiting out to task manager to kill it.

On the omega drivers, everything is rock solid. Starting with I think the april(?) beta drivers, it started to crash all the time. Roll back to omega, rock solid.

With the 15.7.1, things are pretty stable, only that one crash. And this goes for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

I think 14.9 was the only other driver in recent memory that I didn't have the wake-from-sleep issues, and 15.7.1 seems to have fixed it for me again.

Just in case you guys are having problems getting into safe mode in W10 to run Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU).

I used the shift+restart method here: http://www.7tutorials.com/4-ways-boot-safe-mode-windows-10
enabled safe mode, still couldn't hit F4 or F8, shift+F8 ect to access safe mode so I installed DDU, ran it and without doing the cleaning it asked me if I'd like to reboot into safe mode, which I did, and it worked.

I don't know if enabling safe mode through the shift+restart option was a necessary step or if you can just bypass the method and boot into safe mode using DDU.

I have a something weird going on as I downloaded the most up to date driver but I keep getting the message that there's a new driver available. I checked to see what my driver version is and it is 15.200.1046.2 while the driver that I downloaded is supposed to be version 15.20.1062.1002 as that's the latest one for Windows 10.

I have uninstalled...downloaded again just to make sure that downloaded the latest one that's released on 07/29/15 and installed again and got the same result.

According to CCC my driver packaging version is 15.20-15071a-184226E. I don't know what the heck is going on. I have a Sapphire r9-290x and I'm on Windows 10...anybody have the same problem? Is this on my end (my computer) or AMD's issue?

I hope you're right. I have a very similar card to yours except mine is the XFX version. The wake from sleep issue is driving me crazy so I went ahead and updated to 15.7.1.

If this truly fixes the issue I might just stay with this driver package for awhile.

Weird too i think.

Actually DDU is asking me to run in safe mode and asking if i want to switch when i click yes, it reboots into safe mode and brings up DDU by itself.

Finally able to resolve my AMD drivers issue. For some reason I was unable to uninstall my old AMD drivers. I tried to uninstall using Catalyst Install Manager via Programs and Features. Catalyst Install Manager launched and does it's thing. However after clicking finished, it did not ask for a reboot. Checking my driver version, and sure enough, the old driver was still in place.

I tried uninstalling via the Apps and Features and also to no avail. As a last resort I downloaded and ran DDU in safe mode and this time, was able to remove the AMD drivers. All these years I stayed away from DDU because I never trusted it (always had an irrational fear of 3rd party apps).

I thought I was in the clear, however that's not the case, as the latest driver from AMD would not install correctly. Catalyst Install Manager would not install the complete package. As a result my R9-290x and onboard graphic's card (hd 6550D) was using microsoft display drivers.

As an act of desperation, I decided to to download the driver onto my USB stick and load the driver from there. I don't know why or how, but it WORKED. I'm assuming that these issues might be related to Windows 10 as I never had such problems uninstalling and installing AMD drivers on Windows 7.

Hopefully, this post will help someone else.

So far this driver on Windows 10 is working well for me, except "Use centered timings" which does not work anymore I noticed that this part of the CCC changed in Catalyst 12.14, which was a good thing, but this seems to be a regression in 15.7(.1)?

Also if "Enable GPU up-scaling" is ticked at the same time of using "Use centered timings", the image is stretched vertically, and horizontally there are black bars on the sides. I am not sure if this is the expected behavior ?

Edit : I've just submitted a description of this thanks to the Issue Reporting Form

after having both amd and nvidia drivers after doing some troubleshooting when my previous card went bad, last night finally went through DDU to get rid of all leftovers and installed the 15.7.1 suite.

OMG what a nightmare. Started getting computer lockups (keyboard and mouse would go dark, monitor froze, no log entries made and I had to hard reboot).
only thing I ever saw was during 2 of the 6+ locups was a error message about direct3d just as everything went bad.

Just reinstalled a 14.9 copy I had, lets see how this goes.

When I started troubleshooting this problem, 3 times in a row after using DDU again and trying to install 15.7.1 fresh, when it would ask to resize resolution up to monitor specs selecting yes would instantly lock it up every time, so assuming it is definitely a driver issue.
