AMD chipset, yes or no?

Hello, I have a ASUS Sabertooth FX990 R2.0, FX8350 AMD CPU and ASUS GeForce 970GTX GPU

I am upgrading now to Windows 10.

Now I have 2 questions:

1. Do I need to install the "AMD Chipset driver" from asus motherboard support/driver list
not sure what exactly it is, does it come maybe with Nvidia? or it's for cpu or chipset... no idea I am a total pleb

2. There are none for win10, do I just instal the Win7 ones?

Do I install this one? and why it's 110MB while the ones on Asus motherboard site is 922MB...

Win10 should contain everything required for that platform, with the possible exception of the RAID driver. Which you don't need if you're running in AHCI mode. Just upgrade, and let Windows do its thing...

Don't forget to install a newer Nvidia driver, the provided one is getting a bit long in the tooth.

I'd also recommend a clean install. I've seen too many strange issues crop up with in-place upgrades.

The SATA AHCI driver is more stable and faster than the generic MS AHCI.

ye I will, the one from the link. I just cleaned up my whole pc, put thermal pase new, fkin hell, took me 4h or smthg, had to bend metal and stuff to fix some stuff inside, I barely took the cpu and cooler apart ;D
now's the windows turn

My experience, is get the amd chipset drivers from amd. Often the vendor supplied versions are either older or contain bloat crap. If you want a lean mean Win 10 machine, clean install, update chipset drivers from AMD and Nvidia and run a 24 hour burn in to make sure you did your cooler installation right.
