Amd claiming gtx 580 faster than cayman. Reason for delay. Rumours. Need to re adjust

From everything i've read the 6970 is going to be a good 10% slower then the 580. Making the 6950 faster then the 480 just closes the gap between it and the 6970.

Lol, with the 580 being on average 14,9% faster than the 480 and as you speculate, the 6970 being 10% slower than the 580, it gonna be pretty cramped up there for a bit. If the 6950 is ~480 then I'm betting the 6970 is a bit faster than you speculate

6970 - Faster then 480 by a hair
6950 - faster then 470 by 5%

If that were true the release of cayman would be pointless.

Contemplating a 6950, however the more they get delayed the more I will consider just waiting for 7950 (northern islands or whatever it's called now), I don't want to be in the position like people were with 480 being replaced by the 580 just a few months later. And then I sadly will have to hope that delays on 69XX will have had no impact on 79XX release schedule.

Also I Personally prefer to have new treads pop up every day or two rather than have all news related to the same topic be kept in the same thread till it reaches double digit pages. If the original post is not regularly shown to be updated with important info I miss out on the newer juicy stuff as i don't feel like sifting through 10 pages where majority of posts are members calling each other out over vague rumors.

I do think the 580 is faster (IMHO), but I clearly state that that is my opinion. Do us a favor and change your thread title to something less misleading.
