was the nvidia one better? Though I guess this one is more professional. The issue is not enough information about the products and not enough hyping. More benchmarks would be nice. If they were running doom on 1440 res or something would be nice to mention.

e3 will be their more interesting one I hope. Computex is computex.

I sat eagerly for last years E3, both Pre and actual, and it WAS HORRENDOUS. If last year's is the bar, they can not go lower.

And I'm not saying NV's was "better" but it was definitely more engaging. GF asked me if I was skipping around, I said no that's how they are presenting their stuff. (Did you catch the DOOM portion? "Yeah, we don't have anything to show you, but we're definitely working on Polaris exclusive stuff." /facepalm)

Oh well, as long as they're getting their message across I guess, but they are definitely dull/boring.

I think if that was true, they would have showed exactly that. Something odd with that...

Well that's the conclusion I'm drawing from their GPU utilization comment. Guess we have to wait for NDA's and benchmarks.

Why did AMD give Microsoft the stage to advertise Windows 10 anyway? This Bristol Ridge presentation is really horrible.

They need more content/speakers? /shrugs

It felt rather thin, and all the talking heads didn't really do much in my opinion. Time to wait for the products/reviews.

The Ashes comparison was... odd on a lot of layers.

First why put AMD's price at <$500? These cards are supposed to cost $199, so for two of them you'd think AMD would say <$400. Did they drop the price by $50 at the last second and forget to update the slide? Probably.

Secondly, needing two GPUs to match a single 1080 isn't exactly a flattering comparison considering that multi-GPU still has significant issues and is definitely going to draw more power than a single 1080 by a significant amount. For the $200 dollar difference advertised (as opposed to the actual $300 dollar difference), I'd rather have the single card. I think most of us would.

But wait, they're saying that 2x Polaris is more efficient than 1x 1080? What does that mean? They're only getting 51% utilization compared to the 99% utilization on the 1080, so in that sense they're less efficient. Do they mean that their multi-GPU system is drawing less power than the single 1080? If so, then they should have showed that graph. If not do they mean that they are getting more performance per FLOP that is actually utilized? That's extremely convoluted. Is some form of V-sync engaged and their measurement of efficiency is the utilization required to get ~60FPS? No idea.

And if 2 GPUs are only getting utilized a hair over 50%, assuming a single RX 480 has similar utilization, and by probable extension performance, to a single 1080, why not show that? Wouldn't that be an infinitely more favorable comparison?

I have no idea what the heck they're thinking or trying to convey... but it looks like their marketing department, as is tradition, dropped the ball once again.

I hate to say it, but the presentation was pretty terrible. Raja is just a so so presenter, I think Lisa Su would do a much better job, as she came out full of passion and energy.

Anyway, the product itself looks kind of up in the air and it's obvious the settings in the AOS comparison were not the same, the graphical differences were very noticeable. They really need to show us something else other than a AMD tech demo... It just seemed like they were firing too many shots, and it looked desperate.

I'm hoping the RX 480 turns out to be a good card, as I wound't mind picking one up, but I'm very skeptical at this point. Let's hope the official reviews prove me wrong.

That is one small PCB. As expected for a 150w card.

The Radeon font has changed, too.

Really AMD? You're biggest CPU and possibly savior and that was the intro?

Who made that video, an intern? /facepalm

I am assuming they were using the 8gb models, at A currently undisclosed price. That would put those at likely $249 or slightly less...just a guess.

I've been saying it the last few days. They are run by engineers, their marketing department is full of engineers, and the people presenting are engineers.

When Raja Koduri is the most exciting part of your launch you have a problem.

I actually like the look of the founders...I mean reference card here. I can imagine two of them side by side, looking pretty nasty

Up to $300 price point? Perhaps a 8GB 480X?

The plot thickens!

Yerp, I enjoyed the redesign for the 300 series. Good to see it carried over.

Lisa Su just said $100 to $300 price points for Radeon RX GPUs. Presumably the lower priced GPUs are Polaris 11, but what are they going to sell for $300? It would have to come very close to matching 1070 for that price.

I don't care in the slightest about bling and presentation. Also Dr. Su looks more comfortable than I've seen her in the past.

Look! It's a real card even. (I know, cheap shot...lol)

lol, lots of shots fired today, hope they live up to what's been shown.

So do I. That styling they've brought out on Fury cards sure looks fine on lower end hardware.

Yeah, thats what I am thinking.

And she said on store shelves on the 29th.

And wrong forum area, but the 40% increased IPC for Zen will do wonders for giving Intel some competition.

Yeah the $300 card may be quite interesting. If it is nipping at the heels of the 1070, then it is priced right. I hope it OC's well.

480 should be faster or same speed as 1080 under dx12.If cf have 51% Gpu utilization then 1 card will have same performance.

And 2.8x perf/watt

I am wondering if the 51% equates to a scaling issue, or if frame limiters were at play. Its an odd thing to show. But guess we will find out in about 29 days.
