There will also be a few products EOL (End of Life) among them the 1MB cache versions like the X2 4400+

Amazing price cut. But unless you are a diehard AMD fan or have lots of stocks in the company, Intel's Core Duo seems a much better chip for a new rig, considering that a $316 X6600 can keep up with FX62 (that's without o/cing the Intel) with less heat/noise. It's interesting to see the table turned on AMD (I switched from Intel to AMD 5 years ago and have bought at least 8 K7/8's).

Where do the E6300 and E6400 fall in comparison to the X2's? Also I've got a single core 3800+, how fast of an X2 would I need to see an improvement in single apps (X2's are clocked a lot lower so slower for single apps right?)

those are great looking prices. My brother is having me build him a nice computer for when he goes back to school in the fall. The budget is around $700. And Im the one who knows the computer stuff and should have the better computer, but
I paid $164 for my 3200+ a year ago, and he gets to pay $150 for an 3800+ X2.
no fair

Sorry AMD, I missed out on your whole Athlon 64 lineup, moving from a P4 to AXP to Core 2.
Oh well, thats the way it goes...
