Question AMD Driver Time Out Error

I have an AMD Radeon RX6950 XT. It's a great card but since the beginning of using it, this computer is a new build in March, I keep getting an error from time to time that says the AMD Driver has timed out. I have the latest drivers and it only does it when the computer is idle, while I'm not doing anything. I can run Flight Simulator for 8 hours and it works like a champ but I let it sit idle for a while and I get the error.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks for any help.

Some experience this with certain driver versions when not using windows high performance power plan. If you are using it already, then for testing purposes, set the PC to never sleep, never turn off monitor.

Thanks. I already had my power plan set for PC never to sleep and never turn off monitor. Now, at night when I do leave my computer on when I'm home I normally turn off my monitor as I have a screensaver running. I wonder if physically turning off the monitor would cause this as well. I'll try the Multiplane overlay

You can’t just manually put it in hibernation mode at night?

What motherboard is it? It's worth to take a watch if the later BIOS updates mention something about fixes for PCI-E.

Are you on win 10 or 11? I use 11 pro on my main PC and do the same thing you do i.e. set to Hi performance never turn off or sleep, and turn the monitor or TV off instead. I do not get driver timeouts. If the overlay issue doesn't fix it, and despite it being built recently. I'd nuke the drivers in safe mode with DDU, and install the latest ones.

This is what fixed that bug for me on my 6700 XT. Seemed to happen a lot in Chrome for some reason.
