I'd also need a converter as my monitor only has dvi.Anyone know if any of the active DP to DVI converters support 1440p @ 120hz? I've got a Korean and just realized no DVI on these........
if review nda is tomorrow, expect reviews midnight tonight??? that would be so epic. I will go buy some ice cream for it haha.
Oddly enough, I thought that I wouldn't have to move off of my old dual 780s for a good long while, until nVIDIA's drivers / performance for Kepler started tanking. To answer the OP, ChuckFX's question, I'm fascinated by the GTX980TI, Titan X and now the AMD Fury/Fury Pro and especially Fury X. That being said I have 2 R9 290 Sapphire Tri-X gpus (1110 core/1300 mem) under water with EK blocks and use a 2560 x 1440 monitor (specs below). I really have no need to upgrade unless AMD would "abandon the 200 series in software support.

If Nvidia has to answer:
GTX 980 @ $400
GTX 980 Ti @ $550
GTX 980 Ultra @ $650 (Based on full GM200).
But, I don't see Nvidia having to respond. They got name brand and word of mouth. Fury is a new card that isn't even out yet. The only people even remotely interested are still but a fraction of buyers.
Where AMD needed to impress (R9 300 series, where MOST buyers are) completely felt unimpressive and a tad misleading during their presentation.
Nvidia has nothing to worry about.
I dont think anyone except a diehard AMD fan can make that decision until we see actual benchmarks. Personally, since it requires water cooling, I think Fury X will have to significantly beat 980Ti or at least overclock like hell. Otherwise, why mess around with water cooling for equal performance at the same price?
The card that really interests me is the nano. I am not really in the market for a monster 400 dollar plus card, but an efficient, compact mid/high range card at a good price sounds like a winner.
I definitely want to see benchmarks, and in particular, OC vs OC benchmarks. At stock, these may be equal to the 980ti, but when both are OC'ed, which will be faster?
Exactly. I'm getting $100 extra value from amd. But well like I said. Since amd is first to make wc standard high-end it's not cool. Second the new high end nvidia card has watercooling it will be revolutionary
As for performance? My guess is it will be great. I think amd didn't talk performance because they want reviewers to talk performance. The class of people purchasing that high end gpu won't trust performance numbers anyway from amd. If amd said any performance numbers I'd have just wanted for a review anyway. A person who cares what the Performance numbers are and is following this launch doesn't care what amd says they are lol.....
Will cool and quiet matter? The reference blower isn't going to be able to touch the Fury considering we are looking at 30°C+ hotter before you O/C.
Setting up an AIO radiator is a lot? It's four screws.I don't really care how hot it runs. I want to see stability and performance (and what you can get from reasonable overclocking). I'll wait for the reviews to come out. I'm on the edge of buying a 980 Ti or Fury X with a slight lean towards the 980 Ti because nvidia's drivers have a better reputation. (I'm talking as someone who has owned multiple AMD/ATI cards and currently uses a 7970. The drivers are shit.)
I'd love to see something good from AMD but having to set up a radiator and all that... feels like a lot.
It comes with the AIO and you can either replace a current 120 fan or put it in a free space.I don't really care how hot it runs. Not me, I've had my fill of 28nm GPUs and can play my backlog of old Steam games until the next node shrink.
That said I think it could be a decent upgrade for those who have HD 6xxx cards.
